Ok, I have came up with an idea!
What if there was a weather system, the weather would change at different times, So it could rain for instance in spring. The weather would be changed at random or at different seasons.
After a small discussion on IRC, Wipe suggested that if it snowed, you would be able to make Snowmen, This could use your Outdoorsman skill.
Another suggestion was that you would be able to turn off the weather effects if you have a low spec computer.
Weather Types
-Rain
-Snow
-Sun
-Fall (Leaves & Such)
-Thunder
-Hail
-Twister
-Fog
-Fallout (From Nuclear Blast's)
-Wind
-Sand Storms
Tell me what you think and vote.
Thanks
Crysis.

Actually, it was a joke... ::) I don't see a place for "weather" in fonline, other than event-only feature (and even that should be limited to sandstorm only).

Even if it was a joke, It could be used, You could use a snowman in an event in december or something.

Snowman alone will look just silly, when placed on desert :P
Anyway, as a engine feature, to be used in games placed "outside" Fallout world, it's good idea and probably needed.
But not here :)
/IMHO

well if it would be randomly raining in wasteland i would not mind, but dunno about others options author is suggesting, so i vote maybe :>

is a hard ideea:you have to remake every map for the weather prezented
-
I like the idea of random rain effects and thunder sounds. (we could get away with just having rain effects, and no changes on the maps)
The effect of snow would be easy, but actually making snow-covered maps would be extremely time consuming from what I can imagine.
Fog could be pretty interesting, limiting your FoV. (same effect as it being dark if that ever comes into play)
Hail wouldn't need any map changes, and could do random damage, but damn that would just be annoying.
A tornado would require some crazy animation which I guess could be possible with some 3D model, but that might be going too far.
And I'm not sure what nuclear fallout actually looks like, but if it was glowing green rain that slowly irradiated you, I wouldn't have too many objections.(although there's no reason for there to still be fallout almost 200 years after the bombs fell)
Not all of these need to be included, but a few of them would be a nice change.

-Rain - already possible
-Snow- in california? retarded.
-Sun -moot
-Fall (Leafs & Such) - what leaves?
-Thunder - thats a sound
-Hail
-Twister
-Fog - maybe on the coasts, have a limited fov in it
-Fallout (From Nuclear Blast's) - what nuclear blasts? there hasn't been one in 200+ years
-Wind - hard to animate
If anything there should be dust storms that cut your fov down.

-Snow- in california? retarded.
The map goes all the way up to Oregon at least.

And btw, California has pretty much every type of climate. Snow, desert, tropical beach.

Then how come when I travel to klamath I don't die of dysentery or have my covered wagon destroyed while fording a river? Hmm?
-
Hahahaha. I would love an Oregon Trail reference in this game. 'You and your Brahmin cart attempt to ford the river. Your Brahmin drowns in the river and you die of diarrhea from excessive radiation.'

Fallout is tiny bits of dirt and anything that would be lifted into the sky when a bomb hit earth, But i understand there wouldn't be any fallout after 200 years.
-Thunder - thats a sound
Not just a sound, It's also a bright flash which could temporary change your FOV or make you miss your target, I ment Thunder as in Thunder & Lightning.
-
One thing I might agree with that will have some actual use is random radiation spikes, especially near those craters on the world map.

LMAO ;D dying here.
TO the topic... I guess thats a lowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww priority and pretty useless, I can imagine this I got used to f1 f2 and fonline as it is now

The 'effect's are difficult to implement possibly, as I recall difficulty with their use in the Megamod. Neat as they may be, the world is, afterall, Fallout. There is very little in the weather to be had beyond dry, more dry, and baking sun. There may be more, but this is just fluff in the end. Perhaps down the line. Perhaps, though I do not really see the need. And as for the person above me: Don't bother posting such drivel. >:|
You are no help, thus a waste of time in posting a useless comment.

I thought the same, Just didn't know how to put it, Maybe a few of them weather choices can be taken away but I think thunder and a few others should be considered.
-
thunder sfx coupled with rain would be cool, i kind of like the idea of dust storms rolling in from the wastes depression style.
-
What about... Tumble weed ;D, I know it's not weather related, But would be cool ::)
