Title: does learning a profession makes my damage higher?

lets say i tagged big guns, i choose not to learn big gun level 1 and go for armor crafing 1,2 and explosives instead. Do i still do the same damage without the profession with a minigun? is it just simply "learn to craft" thing? thanks

Learning profession is only for the purposes of crafting, if I didn't miss anything. :)

The profession expands your craft list only and it doesn't do anything with your damage or healing rate or anything else. You can have 3 grades of profession. For example: 3 grades of Small Guns or 2 grades of Energy and 1 grade of Armorer.
