If a thief fails an attempt on a follower should be attacked by that follower instead of it just standing there.

that was implemented by some time but it caused many problems in balansing town guards AI.

right and.. hmm no good idea.. there is no save place in the wasteland.. maybe your tent, thats all. :P

That doesnt cause the gaurds to... nevermind bursts do count only single shots that accidentally hit someone does is safe now.

All the time.... I ALWAYS give mine smgs or something... :P.

when i think about rocketluncher mercs ^^
they all use same ai comands then.. nightmare just nightmare
5 biggunmercs kill the failed thief
(you died too because you stand to close to him and after that the whole town
because they fired with fucking rocketlunchers. ok just singleshot ^^)
maybe if they fight unarmed.. but sounds not realy usefull

I think youre slave is your guard, it should have an option to guard you or "dont guard me" because its obvious they should do it. They should protect themselves and in case of stealing they should attack, well, ok 1 person may not see 1 thief but 3 or 4 and the guards are saying, in reality or in true wasteland the thief would be killed on sight, just think how courageous it is to steal among 3 of your guys :)

I think thats reserved for city guards only ;). Id rather see them unstealable by one of them bursting at the thief :P A good thief would see and had to practice when somebody is going around with mercs or not

Unstealable is way too much, everyone would just have a merc to use as a walking safe. I think retaliation isn't too much to ask. You think if you hired a bodyguard and someone was robbing him he'd just stand there staring blankly watching this happen?

the biggest bug was that when thiefs steal from your mercs, mercs start attacking and be killed by guards.
The thing is it doesnt do that anymore, if a thief steals from your or the mercs are stolen from and are caught your mercs CAN NOW attack the thieves without gaurds killing them.

never heard about someone was hit instead of another one?
its your responsibility. good luck.
lets devs add that your actions with mercs allways counted to your karma.

It may good if we have a dialog line, wich the player can order the mercenary to shoot or not, if there is a thief.

Mercenaries now shoot if stolen from and thief is caught btw.

Not sure if this has been posted before but I think it should count as a steal towards yourself. if someone steals from your follower, be it a person, merc, slave or brahmin or whatever, it should count as someone trying to steal from you yourself, and you can retaliate with violence.
I'm getting sick of mining with my brahmin to carry the ores, then because it's following is a little messed up (he sometimes just gives up and stands still, the lazy bugger. He's not over his carry weight, either) he stands a few feet away or out of sight, someone steals the ores from him because he can't do shit about it, and I can't punish the little sod who's too crap to even mine his own stuff.
I could just gun him down there and then, but the guards would kill me, and not him.

If anyone is spotted (by guards) stealing, they become unprotected and anyone can shoot them.
I suppose im for this idea, maybe if its an option? Though i suppose if you shoot the theif, any follower would attack them anyway.
Then again, rocket/grenade/burster mercs would cause problems. No! I will not stand for this suffering!

FYI, if you hold the left Alt button down while clicking any spot, you can order your follower to move there or Flee from the map. You may need to press Stop All Actions if the brahmin is bugged and won't move.
