Does the awareness perk not work? when i select it nothing happens.

strange after like 4 tries it worked.. maybe lag?
while were at it how does the Cautious Nature perk work... you always seem to start right in the middle no matter what.. so is the perk worth getting?

Yes, lags affect Awareness, cause it's performed server-side. When it was client-side it got hacked pretty fast you know :)
As for Cautious nature, it is used during the encounter opponents placement, might be bugged though. Haven't checked it for long time.

Awareness for everyone;) Everything that's in client will be hacked earlier or later.

Before, all information concerning the enemy were sent to the client. Then if you had the perk awerness, your game show these informations.
From the time the information is on our side, even without the perk awerness, there was a way to display them anyway .. what has been done. (Local proxy intercepting and changing information)

For Caution Nature - From description of this I conclude it add +3 to your perception during random encounters ( so if you have PE6 during random encounter you have PE9 and better % to hit enemies with a gun)[mix it with sharpshooter to have total +5PE during random encounters :D]
For awernes you need hold left mouse button while aiming targtet with arrow cursor to make menu pop up and then select this 'lunete' ;p to see info about targer hp, weapon and crippled limbs.

Like receiving and analysing RECV packets :) For example throu some proxy server application.

The description says: "You are more alert outdoors and enemies are less likely to sneak up on you. With this Perk you get a +3 to your perception in random encounters when determining placement.", explicitly stating when the bonus is applied. Also, the Sharpshooter perk is not (against the description on both Fonline and FO2) giving 2 points of perception, but rather a flat 8 p% to-hit bonus for ranged attacks (and it works slightly different if attacker has a damaged eye).

I was considering weather to take awareness or cautious nature and took cautious nature and a damn thing won't work. Still I end up in a middle of the fight, and die because of fucking pk-s. My PE is 7 so I should have a total of PE10 equivalent and still I end up in fights, and I gave up one good perk to have it so I wouldn't have to build up outdoorsman. This is ridiculous. I feel robbed off for a perk beside being robbed of for goods.

The spawn points have been changed due to lots more encounters that have multiple groups, so with the newer encounter maps, Cautious Nature (and High PE) sometimes just doesn't have a place to put you that is "better".
(Also, if an older map was modified to add extra groups, a spawn point that used to make Cautious Nature/High PE useful will now coincide with the extra creatures, sometimes.)
They need to put in a situationally aware offset system.
This would mean pathing algorithms/etc. that would add to the server-client workload.
(And the devs workload)
This is what I guess.
