Title: How are people entering sneak near players?
Post by: Roachor on May 16, 2010, 08:06:20 pm

The gentleman on the floor there is often in NCR stealing while hidden, he disappears about 2-3 hexes away from me and does so despite being surrounded by people. Even when his stealth breaks he can do this, how is he entering stealth while viewed by other players?

Are you sure his sneak breakes? Because once at good times, when sneak was unnerfed and FoV bugged, it was fun hunting sneaky thieves at NCR, and thier sneak didn't break when I shoot them, only knockdown/out, that's why I was aiming thier legs to knock down and then guards could see him and shoot him, or else he could escape easily, even with 2 bullest in his leg, but without knockdown/out.

Sneaking players are never transparent to anyone but themselves.

What do you mean? Mark them red or group up with them or what? Afaik when I meet someone who is sneaking then I either see him completely or not. But I've never seen transparent sneakers.

I dont get how sneakers can even run....  Doesn't that cancel it?  ( Nevermind I just remembered about the Silent Running Perk )  Btw.... I know a friend named Agent Whore who runs 3 hexes away and just vanishes... ask her?

The "transparent man" bug is already several months old. I doubt that these people are sneaking, as I saw this in a lot places already.

So you can tag everyone whom you've met green and sneak always?

I meant grouping up with, try that. I've noticed that they become transparant then. (and you can sneak next to them)

As far as I remember, if you tag the same player as someone, then you can sneak next to him as you follow the same leader.
