Main point of this idea is to give other players more informations about your action. Right now everything that is about manipulaiting in inventory (like drinking nuca-cola, using jet, eating fruit or arming bomb) is presented as ONE animation. This can be solved in three ways:
1. You get floating text about your head that exists for adjustable ammount of time (just like with damage indicator) with possibility to turn it on/off.

(of course color could be diffrent, this example was done in-game by using .E)
2. You got message in console what someone is doing with possibility to turn it on/off.

3.. Mix previous points. (1. and 2.) with possibility to turn on/off each one of them.
Note: in orginal Fallout there was console information about what each of NPC is doing (if he is using psycho or jet or whatever else) also in New Reno you could see message above prostitute head "using jet".
All of those options should be available to be turned on or off.
This way you no longer will have to find out if someone is arming bomb or just changing something in his inventory. It's wrong if you have no idea what other player is doing and it's quite big issue with this game. Entire system could be based on perception (the higher PE from higher distance you know what other player is doing) but it would be great also if it wouldn't be. Decision is up to devs.

As I said in the (very) old topic of this suggestion, this would be great (I voted for way 1) ; however maybe that with 3D era we'll have different animations ?

I totally support it and voted for option 3. :)
I don't know if the engine supports it, though.
But it would be really a great enhancment.

Voted for 1 but 3, of course, is also fine. Its just that the textbox usually gets spammed more than enough and more text down there aint that required.

This could lead to creation of new "class". Something like a spy or such. With high sneak skill he could mask his actions as something else like "setting up a trap" into "drinking nuca cola"... definitely +1.

Definitely agree with Quentin. On peak hours in NCR you wouldnt see it anyway xD

Well textbox need some serious boost anyway. Keeping everything in one small window can't make it into the final game version. Some tags for combat messages, chat filters etc are more than needed here.

theres already filter for chat and combat messages.

1st makes chat window bigger
2nd turns off combat messages
3rd turns off all caht messages (/w /o /e etc)

Definitely like, though how it's done might be left ultimately to the engine and what it'll agree too. Let's hope the 3D era opens new doors.

Only the 'abovehead' message should be in the different colour than the standard '.e' text, so that one couldn't mislead people by arming a bomb and saying '.e uses stimpack'

im voting for it in general... how the heck does this engine work anyways? its not a f2 clone is it ? it sounds like a completely new and unique system that just LOOKs like fallout2 that would prob answer y some of the basic things from f2 arent in fonline like the using jet thing in the chat window or this time out for barter

Jep, it's a new engine made from scratch. The FO2 content is just added. With enough afford and manpower it's also possible to make a whole new game with it. ;)

I probably go with 3 because I actually just like the first Idea, however, being able to TURN it OFF and ON (In seperate Ways) is just better.

+1 for the number 3. Bombers still would arm bombs before going into NCR...

wouldn't they be able to arm a bomb and have a uses stimpack ready just to disguise the thingy, or maybe even asdasdasaasasadasad? Because the latest chat message overwrites the text above the charachter, it was like that with me and thief and blocker tags prewipe, except i screamed,: "you suck", "you all suck", or "this game sucks", almost always managed to get out of the area without being kashizzled by a bored lvl21 anti-pk

Implemented, configurable via FOnline2238.cfg (see wiki page (http://fo2238.fodev.net/wiki/2238#VerboseActionHead)). No changes in GUI - yet.
