This is suggestion for Ghost or for Atom.
Just turn off sneak until you will be have better solution for it. Its impossible to play. Everyone can exploiting in fight now.


Its serious suggestion, as temporary solution, turn off sneak.

Unless devs can pull out some uber fix in short time, which according to lexx isn't possible so it would be reasonable to turn it off.

i think there should be somekinda whining topic created where people like holo could gather and whine together.

maybe not turning of but decreasing that skill would help... lets say 250+ sneakers got a chance, to avoid snipers and minigunners use it.

Sneak killing the game. Break the PVP action (many team dont want to do PVP until sneak fix). We can't take mineral without be killing by sneaker, that suck.

Can you fix it or remove it until you fix it...

Sometimes i smile reading whine posts like these, but really, this is true. Sneak is abnormally overpowered right now, and its really hard to play.

I agree with this topic.
my friend has 100 sneak and nobody see him.
Is a serious problem...

My friend couldn't see a enemy at 2 hex from him. PvP is dead atm.

How about instead of removal we just do something that makes it much much harder at the very least.


Things like...

Decrease chance to hit while sneaking
-A minigun is very hard to move and aim at a target if you're trying to remain inconspicuous. For certain weapons like miniguns and rocket launchers you have a significant decrease in chance to hit. Maybe an increased chance to critically miss for the extreme weapons (big guns) and only a very minor penalty for the small guns. No penalty at all for hth/melee (i would think give it a bonus if anything)

When you move you are more likely to be noticed
-This effect is increased additionally based on the armor/weapons you have out. Moving a little at a time makes little difference, but moving a lot all at once will make you much more noticeable)

Once somebody sees you they have a bonus to continue seeing you (kind of hard to hide in plain sight of someone watching you)

In addition to armor penalty to sneak, throw in a weapon penalty. Its kind of hard to hide a minigun in the bushes, and they tend to stick out from behind the barrel...

Increase the armor penalty some might help also.



Things like these suggestions allow realistic ambushes with sneak, while not necessarily being able to run circles around a person shooting a minigun continuously, with them unable to even see you.



Some of these may be common sense things that are already implemented. If not why not give them a try (apart from being really hard to code? I wouldn't know about that though personally)

no, seems surf solar needs just his +1 post inhere...
I suggest here same thing I suggested in other topic, proly simple and fast solution:
just decrease sneak effectivness, now its like: 200 sneak for 3 hexes, make it 330 sneak for 3 hexes and racional continual decreasing (fe every 8 % sneak lower= 1 hex "lower"). is it so hard to change it? 200 sneak would work for 19,25 hexes, and that is acceptable I guess?

I would suggest simple solution, just move the lines with numbers down to 330% sneak, so with 10PE you could see player with 330% sneak from 3 hexes, and one hex more with every 6% sneak down.
Player with 210% sneak would be seen from 23 hexes by 10PE char, and 11 hexes by 6PE char.

Or another solution - once the player has been seen sneak mode goes off. For now it goes off only when the player is attacked, or he attacks.

And please, don't nerf it too much - players who make 300% sneak build should have also some advantages over non sneaking chars.

No, your problem is that people with miniguns sneak up on you, so the answer was allready suggested, and should be done: Sneak penalty for weapons in active hand. Simple as that.
How much? I suggest a penalty that scales with the max range of the given weapon. Active weapon switching should be disabled while sneaking to prevent exploits.

And 300 skill to be "effective" Jesus, does BG need 300 to be effective? Does SG need 300 to be effective? Keep these things in mind when you call nerfs. I dont want to be a "scientist" with 10 int just to sneak. INT is too imba stat as is nuff said.

I for one dont use sneak with miniguns, i use it for self protection, scouting the area. I dont have a weapon in my hand. You want me nerfed because others exploit the skill?

lol ofc I dont want to nerf it, I am frag granade sneaker, I just want to make it more balanced. your solution (weapon in hands effect) is better ofc, but not so fast and eazy for devs I think. My idea was the fastest possible solution for critical pvp situation which is right now in the game. But it seems they dont consider it so critical as it is :P ALl the pvp stopped because ROgues own all the towns since they ve got most of sneakers, heh

Its like Parle. Why you turn off Parle so quick ? This problem is bigger than Parle, but its still in game and everyone who can, exploiting it.
I dont understand for what you waiting, its unplayable game right now(Except for crafters, oh, for them too, every mine is camped by sneakers)

Yep, I think too sneak is the biggest bug atm.

The solution would be to rebuild a character with 280 sneak but I prefer to wait until it's fixed... (ghosts has nothing to do in a post-apocalyptic game)

I support this article in terms of PVP, it is impossible to play against BG with Brotherhood armor who sneak in and see them up to 3 fields from me ..... and I dont want it to get so far that there will be like 10 on 10 players in town searching each other in sneak..we dont play any ninja game or something

honestly sneak doesnt really serve much of a point beyond pk'ing and trying to follow people to tents. disabling it outright until something can be done would be preferable to whats going on ingame right now.

Sneak is unbalancable skill. Even if it provide invisibility from 20 hexes ( now 3 hexes minimal) it still will be worth getting to be invisible for snipers or minigunners squad.

Sneak will be removed from game or everybody will have sneak activated whole time.

Very easy solution (I think) to reduce the problem until sneak be fixed: put the minimal range where you always view a sneaker from 3 hex to 20 hex (or other higher number).

People please! Does any of you plays the sneaker? How are you supposed to kill anyone when you are seen from 20 hexes and 80% of pvp players are snipers?
Please fix this feature, which means do something with bigguners on sneak, but not make this skill totally useless.

Ok ok.. then.. previously suggested- monster penalties for kind of weapon and armor while sneaking. So u can effectively sneak only in leather jacker/armor and with 1 handed weapon(pistols, energy pistols, throwing knifes, granades, knifes,) so no miniguns, lsw, sniper rifles, hunting rifles, plasma rifles, etc
