I think that many players have the same experience with unexpected visitor in their tent/base, when you dont check your followers and you bring tent thief inside. I dont think that this is part of fair play. If there will exist special proffesion, like scout, that will be okay, because you will have to level it this character.
So my suggestion is simple. If you are on world map and you want to enter any location and you have any player in your group, you will need to confirm the enter to the location (by simple yes or not menu). Because this can be annoying for any players, there could be a option in setting and you could disable this feature.

Is it SO hard to check party list for 1-2 seconds right after you go out of town? What a lameness.

This is nonsense Lordus. Instead we should get party invites accessible by command and they would require confirmation in order to create party.
I mean there are 3 people in town. Mr A, B and C.
- A and B are friends so A types in chat: "~inv B"
- B gots a popup window, he accepts
- A and B are now in group (which should have some GUI also in towns not only at world map, one tiny arrow is just not enough! :o )
- C wants to stalker them to their tent, but they have made a group for themselves and he can't get in it until group leader invites him
- that will leave Mr C with nothing, he will have to wait until devs add some tracking feature to hook up on people unnoticed

both of sius and lordus suggestions sucks. I havent been followed to tent a single time, even when i was completely noob just began to play, and i played alone all the time, i didint even know what is following for long time. And if you are getting rapped because of lacking experience or awareness then its your own fault not game systems and i see no way in this needing fixes.

Vedaras, why are you answering to topic, if you have zero experience with topic subject?? There are many players with this bad experience, so it is not for you Vedaras, but for others. This following is not part of roleplaying, until there will exist something like scout proffesion. If you loose all crafted stuff because of bad system, it is not fun.
Sius, your idea is bad, because nobody wants to write novel. Also very long or nicks in cyrilic will be hell. Imagine situation that you have char 10 and you want to lead 10 people group.. ehm.
I suggested that my measure could be turned off, so people will have choice. It is very little change in system i think, but can help many people. But if developers wants to continue supporting this kind of robbery, ok then.

Lordus, it's a part of the game to allow players to rob each others... if we follow your idea, then let's expanse it and disable full loot... Seriously...

Funny how people jump to conclusions sometimes,full loot has alot to do with this suggestion.
I dont really think we need a new system for followers,its pretty simple to see the arrow over a guys head when you leave a town and even if you miss that you still have the name clear as day on your party list.Sorry Lordus I just dont see the point.

I have many expericences with followers.
1) I made tent near ncr and i allowed Dremor to kill me and steal me almost all my tent stuff (except 30k money, because i put it into the corner of the tent and he did not found them). I was very angry until i made a revenge to him. This was in december.
2) My teamate did the same thing like me in common tent after last wipe. We lost a good amount of money, it was quite stressful, when you all night work on gathering money to new base (without bug abusing) and then we lost it, because we were tired and we did not notice our folower.
3) My teamate by mistake bring one player to our base. It was long trip, with one encouter. from NCR to our base, located near Redding. He swear that this was mistake, not intention.
4) I admit, that after my first experience, i made special tent which i used like a trap, there were 3 mercs ready to kill everyone and i killed 4 tent thiefs there.
Problem is, that until you have same experience like me or other victims, you dont think that this change is neccesary. Imagine situation, that you are not only playing this, but like me, you are reading book, watching TV, cooking, talking, keeping and eye on kids, ... . Then you will be very angry and maybe it will be the last reason why to leave fonline (like my other friend left game after his tent thief experience). This kind of robbery is allowed only by this game mechanism combined with tiredness. I dont realy think, that in real world, you will not notice that you have follower IN YOUR group. I can accecpt it, only if this will be special game feature like proffesion base on some skill,... .
I hope, this will help many players (except tent thiefs/robbers).

solutions:
A. You have a very easy accessible and readable list on worldmap.
B. Place your tent a few squares away from a city, not two inches away, that way you MUST see if you got followers, because there is not much else to look at, and there is always a chance for random encounter.
And in many ways, this feels like any kind of PK/PvP experience, except that you actually can prevent tent thief's, you can't really prevent a bullet spreading your brain across the desert..

I dont need solution for me. I made special tent for this kind of situatin with mercs ready to kill everyone and i learned to click first on this tent, and after to click to my real storage tent. It was automatic for my, so i learned how to avoid this situations. But this is not for me, but for other players. Just stay few minutes in NCR and look at the t.thiefes waiting for their victims near the exid grid. I know that this is the game, but there must be at least little relarion with real world situation. And i cant imagine situation, that you are with someone else in real world and you bring him into your hidden place only because you did not look. Yes, if thief is using his skills, then ok, but this is not ingame skill.
So, is this problem, to confirm entering (if you will have option to disable it)?

ok the my suggestion would be to make topic somewhere in this forum named "tell us about your bad beat" for other people like lordus to tell their bad experience, and make some suggestions for others after their cool story, so others wouldnt end up like losers like the authors of stories.

or you could put your tent in the vincinity of a mine and go there first, wait 10 secs (that's normally what it takes for a stalker to realise you are going to the mine), go to tent, profit

i think that is ok with this as it is now.
badasses should have their chance u know. it makes the game more fun.
so my answer is no.
actually i want this to be changed in favor of thiefs - that will make the game more dangerous.
may be the game sshould check the outdoorsman skill of the thief and his target and performe some dice roll after that in order?

Stop saying that example. FOnline isn't real world, and isn't a Wasteland-survivor-simulator. It's first a video game, and then a game where you can kill, fight, make alliances, have fun. Nobody wants FOnline to be The Sims... I want to say to everyone who's saying everytime "but it's not like reality, it's unfair" : shut up and play this game.

Nobody wants FOnline to be The Sims... I want to say to everyone who's saying everytime "but it's not like realty, it's unfair" : shut up and play this game.

As i said, this topic is not aimed on you Vedaras, so left this one and dont react on me and flood this suggestion forum with your perfect genius ideas,, or realize yourself as combat medic :P and go heal all wasteland wounds. This topic is for players, which does not have same luck as you and they dont think that is possible bring anybody to your "safe area" without intention. Also, i repeat, you will have always option to turn this off and then pay for your lack of attention, if you will have bad luck.
( I.e., when you are leaving faction, you have to confirm it twice (and before this, you must choose special option, so 3x). In case you bring thief in your tent, there could be consequences more cruel, than if you accidentaly left faction..)

maybe traps that paralyse the prospective thief, so youcan deal with him at your leisure, one that stops the guy from logging out while he is such, in the end it will probably be the thiefs own fault for trying to steal from a trapper.

It is nothing about inteligence, it is about focus. If you are tired, have other duties, like i said, you can do many things with unintentional consequences.
But this is not my defence. My defence is, that i killed them all next time with my special trap tent for this kind of followers.
I will not tell you that you are stupid or use vulgar world, because i think you present yourself enough in this topic. There is no need to use vulgar worlds and be offending, but from many reasons (bad education, alcoholic parents, hang-up, zero attention from girls,...) there still exist people like i describe.

honestly i love it when people follow me, i warn them first, i tell them specifically that they are about to die and when they say lol no im not derp derp derp, i take them to my tent o' death, easy solution here people, hire a big gun rocket merc, and then just laugh when you get a free minigun and armor. laugh so hard your eyeballs fall out.

eyeballs not being in head is the leading cause of tent rape.

I really don't think it's necessary as you can die a million other deaths in FOnline, but if you insist, maybe just a winow popping up saying "Your party members: Blah, Blahblah, dremor" after each time you exit to worldmap.

If you are tired and have other duties to do then you shouldn't be playing Fonline in the first place.
Anyway being one of the raider themselves I can safetly say that the problem with tent raiding will be over soon. People have started watching their follower list far more often. So I we won't need an update, and tracking will remove tent raiding completely.

Don't say people that's too hard to check if someone's followed... Wasteland is harsh place :P and it's lovely when you have an option to enter the desert and kill your follower (ofc if you are able to do that), but IMO it's nice FOnline feature and it shouldn't be deleted from the game even if it is noobish and annoying.

personally, i've been followed a number of times, and they always leave one i say they're name or other wise show that i see them, so just typing "hi" in to the chat box would probally make them leave.
also, put your tent a good ways away from NCR, and you'll all be fine, my tents just about in the middle of nowhere, i don't think any tent ambusher would want to risk following me so far up.

That, and get some mercs. Nothing more satisfying than seeing that tent raider getting pierced with bullets by that merc with a LSW.

i see great potential in the tent raiding.
it makes the game much more interestimg. i was raded 2 times - 1 before last wipe and 1 after. the second one turned out to be a very interesting story. the raider managed to score 4 kills at my tent but couldnt manage to pick up all the stuff, dp he tried to raid me right afterwards. can u belive it he didnt remember my name 5 minits after he robed me - he is a very busy man)))

I think easiest way to do it is ability of player to turn off any folowing parties. This game consumes lots of time when crafting etc and i guess Im not the only one who shortens the time by alt+tab and watch something on the net. I never got robbed probably because most of the times someone tried it i saw him standing near brown zone. Skilled players dont have much trouble with it because most of them already have bought 100 sniper ghouls and (if he is small gun user probably armed with scoped hunting rifles because buying ghouls is easier than getting sg craft 3) or have stereotype to check folowers everytime. So the point is this is mostli hurting players in the starting phase and discourages new players to play this game.

"I have 160 hp, i'm wearing metal armor and a smg, surely no one will follow me!" That's the additude some people have. That's the people tent raiders aim for. (well try to)

you know i've been tempted to try something, drag followers out in to super mutant land and get them killed one i have nothing on me just for fun, that'd be amusing, i know i've been known to walk a tile over and say "alright, free rides over get out" to them, or just stop and try to kick them a few times if i don't have anything and i'm bored.

I have an idea... the followers context window appears for the follower to follow or not... this should be made for the leader as well. not so troublesome :/ I also have the problem because I mistake the buttons 'throw out' and 'give leadership' SUCKS

That would sound good, but it would just make it more annoying for the people that use the tagging for the purpose it was made for (e.g. when 9 people are following you, that would get quite annoying)
I agree that the best measure against these guys is to:
(A. Get some mingunner mercs in your tent
or/and
(B. Just look at who is following you, even if that means waiting a second for it to load.

You can choose to make your tent less than one tile away from NCR, you can't really do that with a base, unless you get lucky.

Well, the context window for followers should be removed then. It would make it easier. Look in this way, 1 more click is not so much.
Removing the followers window would make it easier that way too :p. I mean that the leader would have to click YES/NO while the follower just to tag
or
tagging should bring up a context window if you accept or not, just like barter. and any tagging without acceptance would be dismissed !! <---WOW
