I am sick of silent battles.
My suggestion:
You get 5/10 slots where you can write floats for your character to say in battle.
Various preconditions - Just been shot, just been critically hit, just shot someone, just scored a critical hit, on severely wounded, on almost dead. That kind of thing.
When these conditions are met, your character will say this PRESUMABLY HILARIOUS line mid fight without you having to do anything.
Just an attempt to add some expression in a time where you're normally frantically clicking and too busy to type witty asides.

Something like 5 conditions out of >5 options would also mean that they wouldn't pop up all the time.

Pretty good idea.
Anyway instead of this particular things I would love to see macros ingame. So everyone could do whatever he want to with his char management from single shouts to complex action->reaction macros.

Okay, I am revising this idea.
I am the only one who gets customisable battle floats. I forgot what game I was playing for a second.

Oh yeah because creating a personality for your character has nothing to do with rping. I'm assuming you've never played d&d?

Of course it can "increaze" roleplaying a bit, but the majority of players will just use statements like the fine sir I have in my signature for example, or will draw genitalia as been stated in the thread etc.

They devs can stop making FOnline I gues... If you would turn down every suggestion only because someone could use it in way you don't like then game will become even more boring and flat than it already is.

First, it is not my decision. I like it though, but it has nothing to do with the way the devs make their game.
Second - it's been stated a lot of times that they don't want to make so much "lulz" and out of game styles in the game. Else we could name our factions as we want etc.

The NPC taunts would be a nice edition for starters imo.
Today i heard a guard shout: "You shot my eye, prick" ..Or something like that..

You guys keep shooting down rping elements because some people might not fit the theme, but you guys never even tried. I'm sure people that play this game do so because they like the world fallout is set in, not because they want to play a ghetto strategy game.

Yeah, we've never tried. ::) We've never had people destroying RP "sessions" because they wanted to shoot everyone down for teh lulz, we never encountered people who were "drawing" swastikas on the ground, we've never head people shouting pictures of genitalia in the ncr etc. ::)

Same as Surf Solar. Don't talk about the past of a game that has encountered many RP projects already. Not saying that this suggestion is bad though. It just looks complicated to do, and by then low priority =p

Yeah, maybe we just find all of the NPC lines, write some of our own, and then players can choose between:
Cowardly
Angry
Grizzled Veteran
Raider
Doctor
That kind of thing.

Still, i doubt very hard that this will increase "rping" in any kind of way. And... if you are in some tb fight, you can simply write the text on your own too. I also doubt that someone will read it very much, if you have a hectic rt fight ongoing.
It's a nice addition, but it will hardly increase any roleplay...

Clearly you just don't understand the concept of RPing. It's creating a character, the more you can define it's personality via looks, speech, etc. the deeper it becomes. Being able to have custom shouts for when you get hit adds to that and gives you a more unique experience.

Drawing swastikas happens everywhere, just look at farm ville. RP sessions getting ruined is besides the point, there isn't enough customization for rp to be viable. Simple things like having a custom description or custom shouts would be simple to add, easy for people to edit and open up a greater range for people with imagination. This fear of people swearing is retarded considering that's what people do anyways. You're punishing everyone for the acts of a few that will be doing these things regardless.

As we all see in what direction this is moving, I will close the thread. We can't transpose this idea right now anyway. Maybe in future, we will pick it up again.
