Title: More ruthless trader purging
Post by: Badger on March 29, 2010, 05:52:12 pm
I am sick of scrolling through 20 cattle prods at the Hub gun store. I know there's a cleanup cycle, it just doesn't work too well. Traders still have cow turds in their inventory. I'd suggest you make traders check and remove shit from their inventory a lot more often.

Yeah the unstacking items are ruining it.

Perhaps inventories could be made double-wide like in Fallout Tactics.

Cannibalize the templates? After all, FOT devs had the code/materials/etc. from FO/FO2 to build on. Perhaps there is backwards compatibility.

This would very much help things.

Not just trader inventories but player ones and containers.

We've got about 1300 shotgun shells in one NCR trader. It takes me fifteen seconds of furious scrolling to reach the bottom of his inventory.

Any comment?

Edit: My mistake. We actually have 13,000.

I'm not even saying we need to convert this stuff to cash. Just get it the hell out of there.

I'd buy them if shotguns were any good and I wasn't one hander.

Biggest problems are still non-stacking items.

Like radios....

I wanted to get a rope. Good thing its yellowish, its easyer to spot from the onehundredthousandandten identical green radios they have. Alas, it took me 30 seconds to reach the rope(used the scroll button, not the mouse wheel) so afaik currently its impossible to buy rope from that trader in ncr.

They dont stack, because they have different frequencys set?

Every time you sell anything to the trader, it should check for the items id, destroy the item, and spawn a brand new one in its inventory, nuff said.
Who wants to buy a 99% deteriorated mauser anyway  :-\

Automatic stacking would be the best and more desiderable option. I agree with OP, this kill trades.

Hold shift while scrolling and it will go way faster.
