When I say gear, I mean stuff that you intend to use in the field.
I got talking to my friends about how often they buy gear from stores as opposed to craft it. I'm pretty much the only guy who actually buys things from stores. I got wondering if it was like that for everyone.
Way I see it now, there isn't actually a supply/demand economy. People are crafting Assault Rifles out the wazoo, but I'm not going to spend 2.5k on one. I'd happily buy them if they weren't so damn expensive. I know you can buy deteriorated ones for cheaper, but I just can't see anyone buying these brand new rifles everyone is churning out.

Sometimes, but I always pay with useless crap that nobody wants.
-
I buy everything until I can craft it for myself. Then I just sell guns and buy armour. So I voted "sometimes."

Never. I dont even buy stuff from players. But im definately not anti-social, you assholes >:(

I usually selling Assault Rifle 0% deteroration+200 5mm JHP all together for 1k...
And 200 5mm AP for 1k.
And if you think it's cheap, I don't care, to craft a rifle I need to go mine 1 time, so if I can sell an assault rifle atleast for 500 caps each time, I can be one of the richest people in Wasteland, but yes, noone will buy it even for 400 caps, because it's so easy to craft.

Since prices became more fairer, i don't just raid them for money for my next profession, but also trade my rockets for assault rifles. But i wonder, who buys the rockets if everybody can craft them...
It's not that Buster in NCR gives special offers for his best customers or upgrade their ammo/weapons into something uncraftable, if you know what i mean.

I buy all my stuff since the changed the barter system
-
Never since I play with a group of RL friends and we've got a pretty clear partition on who does what. Thus none except one of us have any additional points in barter skill to begin with and it's both quicker & cheaper to ask the one who does the item X to make Y amount of it.
I'd imagine most gangs use the same kind of system.
