Create an npc that can take players on private-party veritbird flights; how exactly it would work I don't know, but once in the plane you're safe enough untill you reach your destination. maybe he's (she?) a rogue enclaver who stole the plane and went merc, whatever. as to why not in FO2, simple, after "a few years" the enclave got pissed enough to hunt his ass down and kill him. maybe used him as an FEV test subject- OR MINER...........

Sounds like a pointless feature nobody would use.
Besides, the fuel would be too costly to really be able to use it for long, according to canon.

I wonder what you will think of next.
