Hello!
I've got a bit of a problem. My Girlfriend (we live together) wants to play the game with me, but there is a problem with logging together. We use thesame router, but have 3 different computers. Proxy didn't help, changing the port didn't help (becouse than the game doesnt work or we are not together). What can I do to fix it, beside buying a new router? :P
Thanks for reading, hope this problem would be solved!

Dude, honestly I can't see a problem. I often have an Idler in NCR loged in on a laptop while mining resources or farming stuff on my second char loged on PC. Unless it is a limitation of your ISP you shouldnt have any problems. You can even play two chars on one machine using Sandboxie.
Perhaps if you'd provide us with more information (i.e. what error message you get on second machine when you try to log) we could help you more.
PS. Marry her! :)

Here is da screenshot: http://www.pl.image-share.com/ijpg-185-206.html
Hope it'll work!
PS: I will marry her someday :P (btw you made her laugh)

You should install sandboxie. It's small, but really good.
And you should paste your log instead of the notification for it.
-
Downloaded and installed this sandboxie. Don't know how to use it though :P
Here is the crashlog:

Sandboxie should solve this anyway. Had the same situation once.
Install it, right click on FOnline.exe and select "Start with Sandboxie".
-
Did what was needed to be done with sandboxie, now it says sth about lack "d3dx9_42.dll"...
So it doesn't work anyway.
Master.dat, critter.dat are on the right place with a right path to them.
Fallout 2 is original (from store)
Forgot to mention: after each reinstall the game works fine... But only ONCE! After logging out it doesn't work at all.
-
This differs the problem. Be sure to have the latest version of the client, and clear your cache properly.
-
now it says sth about lack "d3dx9_42.dll"...
i'd try updating direct x, or playing on opengl mode
-
Whats weirder, i can play normally on win7 64 bit. My Girlfriend has win7 32 bit.
I think its the latest client
-
delete all from data folder and update again

Download this:
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?d3dx9_42
and put it in windows/system

Guys, that's fucking wrong. One asshole posted a stupid comment with some words or suggestions that apaprently got deleted. I quoted it adding rather funny comment and got deleted as well. Well, fuck it.
But why did my suggestion regarding Mar's issue got deleted too? I really took some time getting all those links and info together.
EDIT: Not to mention what I expected opening a thread called "Playing with my girlfriend" :)
EDIT2: Fixed that embarassing typo. Thanks Kilgore!

Got your post junked?
No need to rage.
Welcome to our thriving species of forum trolls. Enjoy your stay here and whatever shit you are posting, remember to not cross the red line!
Btw. Grilfriend? This is just unsound

Calm down :P didn't want to start a discussion.
Just for future players with this problem:
a) use sandboxie
b) delete everything in cache and than update, may take few times to do cuz of crashes (aka overweight problems)
c) remember about appropriate port and host
d) directx should be updated
e) try both FOnlineGL.exe and FOnline.exe. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes - it doesn't, but after few tries it gets much better and more stable
f) running with WinXP/98/95 configuration is not needed at all
That's pretty much it :) me and my GF continue to wander on the wastes!
-
i guess i should say now "have fun"... but fun, and this game.. no it doesnt work. anyway, good luck.

I was having the same issue, and that was part of what I had to do to fix it.......
