Spectacles is a rare item which, when worn, will let you see better if you have bad sight (Perception below 4 becomes 4).

I offer the spectacles to the person who will post here a photo of a cat, which I will find the most appealing.
I will try to keep you updated which photo I find the most appealing over the course of auction.

Please, post only one photo at a time, you can try to outbid again only if someone posted more appealing cat than yours.
If you post more than one photo, only the last one will be reviewed by me.

You can't post anything upsetting, animal cruelty, dead cats, something outright disgusting etc.
Such photo will be deleted and you will be punished for breaking the rules of the auction.

It's a nice cat, but he doesn't outbid Boon Lived.

It must be the cat that I find the most appealing. I can't really tell what it is, I know when I see it.

I will keep the cat from the auction winner as my desktop wallpaper until the end of March, so it has to be a cat that is nice to look at.

I had no idea it will be so hard :-/ All the cats are so gorgeous!
Processing with the auction for 3 days will be heartbreaking, I'm not sure if I will be able to do it...
But the rules are harsh and the elimination must continue.

BenKain - this is the most appealing to me photo of a cat you posted, but he seems to be a bit too self-confident...
Surf - posting a kitten?? This is unfair, it's basically cheating! Sadly, I must ban all kittens from the auction, they are too overpowered!
gauvaran, Rikers - these are very appealing cat photos, but it's cat celebrities. I'm looking for a more discreet cat.

Both Boon Lived and Balthazar's bids are equally appealing to me, but Mini's photo is more suitable for wallpaper.
In the long run it might be a bit too melancholic to win, but still... Balthasar is leading now.

Indeed, you have a very nice black cat.
But the photographic qualities are also very important, and it doesn't outbid Balthasar!

The photo can't be too casual, like "my uncle with my cat". It doesn't matter if it's your
cat, I would even prefer it to not be your cat, because keeping a cat of someone I know
from the forum on my own desktop is a bit weird :) But I don't want a celebrity cat either.
I think an anonymous cat would be the best.

Next update on the evening or in the morning.

All the cat photos are absolutely gorgeous but Balthasar is still leading.
Don't give up though, there is still plenty of time to outbid him.

Remember it's about cat photo not cat, although cat is obviously the most important
part of this auction. I think I kind of realized what I want, a few pointers:

 - the cat should look natural, the photo shouldn't be staged
 - it can be interesting, funny, intriguing but not in overly silly "lolcat" way
 - it would be good if it was showing the nature of cats in some way
 - have good composition, suitable for wallpaper
 - should make me want cuddle the cat ^.^
 - if the cat looks gorgeous, it's definitely an advantage
 - adult cat is better, kittens are too overpowered
 - ideally no humans present (or their hands!), unless it really adds a value to the photo
 - no drawings, 3d renders etc

This will probably increase your chances to win the auction, although maybe you will
surprise me with something completely different.

This auction starts to be unbearable, there is so many cat photos, they so are gorgeous and I must make harsh choices, which upsets me. It's heartbreaking but I must try to turn off my emotions somehow and continue the elimination, there is no way out at this point... Only 2 days left, maybe I will manage to the end of the auction.

lucky 7 - this is kitten. Please don't post kittens, it kills me.
Boon Lived - your cat is marvelous, the tail, the pose, the face... you are close but it doesn't beat Balthasar photo although your cat is absolutely stunning, and yes you can post different photos of the same cat or post different ones.
Doctor Who - the panther is interesting twist but not good enough to outbid Balthasar. Also read the rules again please, only the last photo matters.
Nomad - your kitty is absolutely beautiful, the fur is wonderful but the photo doesn't outbid Balthasar.
Dendito - it's a very nice pair of cats but it's not enough to outbid Balthasar.
Kalisto, gauvaran - did you read auction rules? Only one photo matters (the last one you posted). Anyway, both of your bids don't beat Balthasar's bid, sorry (they are wonderful cats though, the family and the ginger cat are both sweet).
Elvis - this is gorgeous cat portrait, but I'm afraid it's not enough to outbid Balthasar.

What I like about Balthasar bid is that the cat is busy doing own things, not just "idling" or posing to the camera. The cat is clearly curious about something but we don't know what it is, because it's out of the camera view. Maybe a bird? Or a kite? We will never know... but it's a good glimpse of a moment. The photo is intriguing and it has some "photojournalism" qualities, it's not just a family portrait.

My cat. Actually this photo is old, I took it around March/April of last year, he was losing a lot of fur because of climatic changes.

Balthasar's cat bid is still the highest, although the competition was getting very close to outbid him this time.

Boon Lived - it's a great "pick me, pick me" photo, the cat is beautiful, but I'm strong enough to resist it!
gauvaran - this is a beautiful cat and scene, unfortunately it looks like made in a photographic studio not a "real" scene... and it's a kitten :P But you could outbid if not so obviously staged by a pro and cat was older.
jarzeb1 - not exactly what I'm looking for, but thanks.
Dark. - it's a beautiful dark-haired cat with very dark serious look, but the photo is a bit too standard to outbid Balthasar.
Sorisso - not even close.
lucky 7 - the cat is marvelous (the fur... :o), quality of the photo is superior, you were very close to outbid Balthasar but the photo lack something special that's hard to explain...
Mtax - no mutated cats please...

Boon Lived - Marvelous hunter, does he share the prey he catches with you? :D It's a lovely cat but the photo doesn't outbid Balthasar...
Shoutaxeror - I disapprove giving whiskey to kittens, sorry...
lucky 7 - I't s a kitten, the background is either fake or blurred in Photoshop, it's most likely shot in a studio... but I don't care! The photo is cool and therefore you are leading now (I still would prefer a photo that is cool and not staged).

We are slowly getting to a conclusion, about 16 hours left. The highest bid now is from lucky 7.

BenKain - the photo is nice, nice colors and light but the kitten looks a bit too sad (and it's a kitten), and in the end it's just a standard portrait, it doesn't outbid lucky 7.
Doctor Who - beautiful cat, but the photo looks a bit too normal and quality is not good enough to outbid lucky 7.
Boon Lived - very interesting almond-colored cat, but simple portraits have little chance to outbid lucky 7.
solid snake - too cute baby... it breaks my heart but I must say no.
