But, something happened when I grabbed the key. I won't give away any details about the encounter (don't want to spoil the fun for anyone else). Basically I got dropped to the world map (http://imgur.com/J9ZDF (http://imgur.com/J9ZDF)) after I grabbed the key and went to get the firetruck. I talked to a GM about this and basically was told there is nothing they would do.
Don't misinterpret this post as whining! I'm not mad at all. However, I think I want to tell others that it might not be a good idea to spend a lot of time in the encounter in the event that something like this might happen to you. I had to wait around at times due to needing some first aid and being woefully unprepared for the encounter in terms of weapons. One of the most tragic things about this entire situation is I was using a lockpicker and could have almost definitely picked the truck and drove it away immediately, but I wanted the key (to increase resale value on the forums).

...No waay....

sounds like a cool SE thou,
cheers!

thats weird, but even more weird is... where did you get square monitor?!

It's 5:4 ratio. Anyway, sorry to heal you got booted to the world map, that must suck. Hopefully whatever the problem, it is known now and will be fixed. :/

Can you describe exactly in what moment you were kicked to WM?
How long were you there nad were you logging off in the location?

1.) I was leaving the location where the key is located. I am PMing you that information right now.
2.) I was there for maybe 1-2 hours total.
3.) I was not logging off in the location at all.

I found the bug, will be fixed in the next update. You will have the location recreated joopndufus.
For anyone else in the meantime don't enter any green grids inside the location with combat
timeout (only the hexes near the edges of the grids are safe).

it's cool SE u met, bro.

Nice catch.

Nice catch.
I also agree with this! The GM I had talked to said he was almost positive there was no bug in this encounter, but I seem to have a lucky/unlucky ability to find bugs in software.

Perfect game tester.

May I ask what level you were when you encountered it? I know where you were doesn't matter, I just want to know if my current scavenger character even has a damn chance since it has a min-level requirement.

Hmmm, let me see. Level 13 with SPECIAL of 5/6/6/2/10/10/1. I was basically just walking around a city tile looking for lockboxes with my lockpick character.

Thanks for the info, far as I know the only thing that matters is the min-level and the approx type of location. (most likely won't find a firetruck in the middle of the desert an all) Cool my 15 scavver should be ok. Ty again. PS I hate you btw :P damn lucky guy.

There is an auction going on right now for it, if you really want it.

See I'm not totally sure where everyone gets their caps, as every vender I go to barely have any. And I hate running spears but I do it but I don't have near the caps to place a bid. Probably the unluckiest guy on Fonline. Still Grats and GL

Yes, a lot of people run around and dump stuff into the merchants to get caps. I play a merchant character, so I am one of those people. You have to either play when not many people are on or just get lucky. Also, as a merchant, I don't always collect caps. I trade for other things of value as well.
-
Oh yeah I do that too, they just never have caps lol. I probably have 100k worth of 100% assault rifles and stuff, just no caps.
-
Only sane way to get caps is slaving, you can get 1600 caps enslaving 8 hobos and do slaving runs for 1-10k caps every 2 hours.
