We already have the means to give out rare vehicles with the special encounter, why not make a slew of new vehicles our there that could be used for specific purposes?
Example:
Military Armament truck: Can carry X amount of WEAPONS, however cannot hold ammunition or any other item type.
Meat Packing Truck: Can hold an unlimited amount of meat, beef jerky etc.
Nuka Cola Van: Comes stocked with a bunch of Nuka Cola, can also hold only Nuka Cola/Fruit/Water bags.
Army Navy Truck: Can hold unlimited or X amount of armors/helmets
It's something simple that I think would be fun to have. If a random players first big fine is a Meat Packing Truck for example, perhaps he'll decide to start amassing enough meat to sell to others.

I use my hummers for carrying stuff and wanna-be military operations, my buggies for fast action loner alts doing something here and there, my cawkroach for bike skin and my highwaymen for everything else... Sounds job specific enough.

I know your really excited about cars and stuff, but just be patient and look for that police car.

Sure but no vehicle seems really viable for mass mining operations.
A vehicle with slots for SPECIFIC item types, instead of using weight limits would be an interesting turn.

This is entirely irrelevant to the post.

Armament truck not holding ammo=lulz.
A brahmin is the only vehicle you need for mass mining operations.

Examples were meant to express general outline of the idea, not to be held to specific standards.
A brahmin holding unlimited materials seems really odd. Maybe it's "balanced" wit a brahmin being massively easy to kill, but why can they hold almost an unlimited weight capacity? I would suggest this be changed as well.

Well, what I'm trying to say is that there is already plenty of vehicles.

Giving people more things to find is a bad thing.... why? If it doesn't throw off balance of things and everyone has the same opportunity to find such things, how does this suggestion throw off any gameplay mechanics or balances...
Does this suggestion do much of anything other than give the average wastelander something to look forward to?
On the same level of giving us random spawned loot in certain encounters to make exploring more fun, how is this any different?

A brahmin combined with a buggy makes it a super fast mining operation with almost no chance of the brahmin getting killed ;)
If you're out for more "realistic" stuff, then first one shouldn't be able to ride with a ginormous stinky cow on the front seat.
And then we get an idea for a job specific vehicle: CATTLE CARRIER ;D
And yes I find that carry weight of 14949 very weird too. The Cow frame should at least have some packings on its back or so..
But it makes transporting a whole bases content a lot easier. And when it comes to realism vs convenience, convenience will always win, because sadly this community doesn't seem to want an immersive game. :(

lulz indeed.

Before talking about nerfing cow, better ballance existing vechicles (Brahmin carts, hummer trunk)?

Yeah, right now I don't care for the carts. They're slow, expensive and can't hold shit.
So maybe make carryweight for single cow lower and cart's higher, so that they become actually useful and worth buying.

This seems to be a recurring theme.

Something convenient doesn't automatically mean it is not believable in terms of the environment you are perceiving.

Instead of restricting vehicles to carry particular items, they should give bonuses instead. F.e. Nuka Cola Van could generate Nuka Colas if you supply it with mats (small energy cells...).
Maybe this will sound too off, but military vehicles (hummer?) could give bonuses on the battlefield, if present. Like those military trucks could give +5% dmg to everyone from the same faction in a certain radius around them.
So all in all, vehicles should have their purpose, different vehicle for different job. Most of all, there is no need to add more vehicles, just to diversify existing ones.

I like Sarakin's idea. Many players that make a good amount of caps eventually get to buy many cars, it could be interesting if cars was another combat-relared thing to invest money on, not to mention it could be part of the loot.

I'm digging this! YES YES, more more!
