Title: Add keys to tanker quest...
Post by: Marko on January 13, 2013, 06:06:25 am
Everyone loves this quest. It's great! Lead any new player there and they are so happy. Get a repair guy. Bring a tumbler and get ready. It doesn't take very long, has a few surprises, some nasties in the basement, a nice stash of caps, and then...*DUHN*DUHN*DUHN...the last room room. ARGH!

Having a 2 minute cooldown between opening each container adds an inordinate delay to finish this quest and move on. Great quest with a boring, tedious end. No purpose for this delay except to waste time waiting.

So here is a suggestion to lessen this irritation: a few of the locked containers are empty. Can you randomize which containers have which items, and add container keys to one of the empty containers? Make that one container very hard to open, but once you find it, you can speed through the rest with the keys.

This would not totally eliminate the delay at the end of this quest. It would simply make the outcome possibly less tedious and certainly less predictable. Maybe one container is even trapped. If you find the one with keys last, you didn't gain anything, but you had a shot at it. Anyway, a little love to the end of this quest would eliminate about 30 boring minutes at the end.

Maybe just go to Klamath and take the items, why we should make the quest ?

STUPID IDEA !!

Quests should be doable with any character, unless there is level requirement.

this quest is made intentionaly to look for other players help , location is repeatably accesible so you finish it in more than 1 part. you need to have party with you when you getting location from NPC too.

1. you need 150 repair alt(+ super toolkit in basement) to repair pump
2. you need at least 2 players to be there to use 2 valves in same time
3. you need tumbler to lockpick safe, doors and crates.
4. you neeed fighter to get rid off 2 robots and some desert animals on basement
5. there is also computer to  be hacked but i havent suceeded to do with it anything.

You disable the robots with it.

You disable the robots with it.

i tried hack it with 200 science but failed, probably due both robots were alredy dead.

My opinion is that you dont realy need disable robots, you need fighter for floaters in basement, once he is there he can easily destroy robots too.
Also i believe changing this "hacking" option into unlocking all crates would be realy nice, quest would be enjoyable a lot.
