Title: Opinions on this Build
Post by: Gimper on December 27, 2012, 12:35:59 am
Alrighty then, I'm making a new Melee Crippler for real time combat. I'm pretty please with him so far, but I need to decide if I need the Hit Points, or the Action Points.

He got Bruiser and Loner (so its easier to level)

9 strength
1 perception
8 endurance
1 charisma
5 intelligence
10 agility
10 luck

More Criticals (which I confirmed with devs to make sure it worked with melee)
Bonus HtH damage +
Even More Criticals
Lifegiver 1
HtH Criticals

So he has I think 40% regular Crit Chance right now for melee (maybe 55 if HtH criticals works that way)

He is level 15 now and I'm gonna get bonus HtH attacks at 18. I'm deciding whether to get Action boy at level 21 and 24 or lifegiver 2 and 3 at level 21 and 24. Basically every aimed hit is a crit, so he is pretty decent.

Let me know what yall think.

I don't understand why most melee builds have one PE.

maybe 4 PE is better so you can at least see what you are running into

I know Melee and SG are 2 of the 3 skills, but what's the third one?

No I got melee and BG because I use flamers to rape floaters and aliens and what not. The third is outdoors so I can farm brahmin hides and gecko pelts and stuff safely.

More fun when you go running into a cave like a drunken lunatic and encounter a pack of deathclaws.

Your build is crap, and if a dev told you more crit works with hth then why are they telling everyone else the opposite? If you are going for crits you don't need more than 5 str, haymaker and more hth + adds 30%. You're better off with more ap than the dmg bonus from bruiser, I'd suggest finesse if your goal is really just crippling. 2 int and 10 end would be a better idea for this.

well, haymaker might be useful if this was an unarmed build you imbocil. I said melee, not unarmed. And please, ask whatever dev told you that more crits doesn't work, to post here the same thing that they are "telling everyone else". Thanks.

The logic of the new perk changes seems to be unless your combat skill is required to gain it it doesn't affect you, like how you can't stack better crits and hth crits.

5 strength for Adr rush, is it worth?

This would be OK, but I don't want a character that talks like an average FO2238 player. "How am I starting to play? Where I am to get minerals and iron? You are help me?"

How about this: http://www.nitue.net/#fcp/direct!id=7542

The way I see it is, If you don't have PE, you cant see anybody, but with sneak, noone can see you!
10 AP so you only have to wait a second or two but with silent death and hth Criticals theres a very good chance you're target is knocked out and cold. You said you wanted crippling I though finesse would be a good choice but maybe you can lower the luck to 8 or 6 in case you want alittle bit more resistance.
95% chance to critical eyes, 85% for head, and 65% for arms.
also, you can talk like a normal human being which is always good :D
no need for drugs, but you can modify it to as how you see fit like 1 str = 8 end

Or, if you don't want sneak and don't care about perception you can try this out http://www.nitue.net/#fcp/direct!id=7543
pretty much a crippling tank that can talk like a person and take a bullet like not a person. (you can benefit with psycho)
I don't know much about not having luck but you could drop it to 1 and get 10 pe or drop luck to 6 and get 5 pe. You can also do that with the sneak melee one I said earlier and get more lifegivers etc..

Rockefeller your build is bad. Why 10 luck and finesse if silent death grants 100% crit? what's the purpose of sneaker melee with 1 pe? sneaker with 1 pe? really? players will see you from bigger distance than you will see them.

also, use edit option instead of double posting, that's little suggestion

10 luck still determines the crit table roll and SD crits with melee aren't that great, you can't solely rely on sd. I have a 1 pe sneaker and he usually gets seen before he gets close enough to hit, it's more to try and avoid getting killed from range. Honestly there just isn't enough possible points to make a good sneak hth, both things cost a lot and hth is greatly underpowered.

I'm not sure if you understand sarcasm or not, but that was a prime example of it...

Yes yes yes, good for you. Aaaanyways, I've discovered that my build suits me fine, so if any moderators want to, go ahead and close the thread.
