I'd recommend:

1. A barter skill somewhere between 125-180%
2. EN 6 + 2 Lifegivers + Even Tougher
(Extra HP is MANDATORY for fleeing and surviving if you're jumped while in the trade window)
3. PE 7-8
(Seeing people who could hurt you is important)
4. Use burst weapons
5. You want at least a strength of 6 + packrat for the carry weight
