Title: Drawing frames.
Post by: Horatio on October 15, 2012, 05:41:09 pm
Hello, community.

Do you like to own some custom character model you can use in 2238? I think i can help you with that.

You can suggest a frame set you want, and this work will be done.
But there is a catch.

After i make a small set of frames in one direction,(from 6 up to 17 pictures) this weekend, you will have to make the same amount of single frames. Then, i will do again the same amount.
After 3 such turns, you can make more frames, as much as you want - and i will match them.

Like a standard char to replace the shitty regular bluesuit?

If you can make a character that looks like me I would gladly try to keep helping with the frames.

The Scream guy or the guy in AC/DC tee?
Because i have a complete set of tshirt guy, all we need is to apply the quickpaste technique to repaint him.

Like this? I have no idea how to make aviators for now. The facial features are made by two pixels.

I used these pictures, your turn now, Brujah. The pictures below are the raw source for the next frame you can do. You can decide for some pants.

You can use image=>adjustments=>brightness/contrast to darken a layer.

Keep in mind that everyone can join the game.

This is epic and I will def keep it up until I have my little bluesuit brujah.

The glasses were actually extremely easy, just a pure-black dot at the eye region and then shape the glasses with transparent black... Alright now for the other poses...

I also believe I'll have to work out a bit more to reach this fine look-alike gentleman's psysique.

The black shirt looks like it was just bucket filled on the body and completrly lacks proper shading.

This is all a figment of your imagination. Try to look at it with different forum theme.
It's a darkened bluesuit with specks of black to mask the yellow.

Also, Brujah, a very interesting solution. Just simplify it.:)

Nice, hair looks different though:

In front, if more like a medium hair than long hair, bit lighter too, some sort of black-brownish.

Nevermind the IRC talk, but the job is dirty and numbers are huge. A different approach is needed.
Also, no idea what i'm doin, but here you have a eyebot walking animation.

The spootnick has two speed modes now. One sneaky wobblefree smooth movement.

Okay, here's the deal mentioned in WTB: Assistance offer:

What i need: I need assistance with short, simple, yet repetative tasks called jobs, like deleting stuff from images i will deliver with PM to interested performer. Do not forget to save! After completing the job, you pack it up in a archive, upload it, give me your ingame nick, screenshot of your done work, we discuss the payment place ingame and you give me the link to the archive.

What will you get: Every performer can select a set by PMing me, thus getting 100 caps for a frame. Every performer can sell only one set, then he must complete it, before he can buy another one. (to prevent boredom grind and to keep the job short)
The job is really easy and quick done, compared to ingame caps grind.

Today, the task is to delete everything from picture with a eraser, except for hair and head and save it. You can make it rough and leave the blue there. Important: image size must remain unchanged.

Offer:
Job 1: 1700 caps.

Job 2: 1700 caps.

Job 3: 1700 caps.

Job 4: 1700 caps.

Job 5: 1700 caps.

Job 6: 1700 caps.

Keep in mind, you not only gain caps for your ingame pleasures, but also contribute content and get a well-visible credit in a done work.

Some of the frames overlap (cut part of head).
This is especially visible on Job 3, but not only.

Yeah, that's just preview for visualisation of the amount of work. The spritesheet plugin for GIMP is buggy and one can't convert the spritesheet back to frames.
If you want to draw frames, PM me and i'll send you the proper images in PNG, you only need to hit Strg+S every time.

Post by: Haraldx on November 25, 2012, 11:48:45 pm
I guess I could do something, but I don't play FOnline since a long time, so I don't know how you will "pay" me. I guess the very notion of "I helped some dude from the FOnline forum!" would satisfy me. If you could send me the full sprites of Job 1 for now, then I will see what I can do tomorrow.
By the way, I am fairly sure job 2 and 5 are identical, just mirrored.
Title: Re: Drawing frames.
Post by: Geras on November 26, 2012, 11:15:04 am
Actually, they're aren't identical. By mirrorring one of those framesets you would cause her to bend her right leg in one set, and left leg in the other (while she bends her left leg in the original set only) which would cause the smoothness of animation proceeding to, for instance walking or running animation to be disturbed. Been there, seen that.

HaraldX, i owe you one. :) I'll send you a set when I'm at home.
Hey, Geras, nice to see you here! Maybe somebody wants to earn caps and help completing the Punk Girl?
Title: Re: Drawing frames.
Post by: Jotisz on November 26, 2012, 02:39:01 pm
Drop me a pm too about one of the set. And as Geras said don't do the mirror trick the sides ain't identical even for male critters.

Yes, like this. :)
Technically, you would earn by this 1700 caps by now, but you took the preview as work, and i can't use that. Don't be too fast. I'll send you the first proper set to work with.

Also current artist performers:

HaraldX: Job 2 and 3.
Davrot: Job 1.

Anyone else want to join the noble cause and earn caps? :)

I take it the 3d models aren't anywhere near done? XD  or what is the point of all of this?

3D models? Oh, they are ready. The animations are also almost (?)done, but missing together with Karpov and he never released his work to public. The renders are missing.

Frames, however can be implemented directly and can be used in Fallout mods, too, but it's a shitload of work that is really difficult to manage alone.
So, anyone willing to contribute, like HaraldX and Davrot can accept simple tasks and i or anyone else willing to participate will do the rest. Anyone wanting to do complete sets is also welcomed. Those who needs motivation like caps, will get it. Anyone needing help with tools, will get it.

So there.

Horatio, check your PMs, I am fairly sure I completed what you gave me. You can add the 3400 caps, that theoretically should go to me, to the other rewards.

HaraldX, your work is excellent and i have to thank you for your generosity. I'm glad that there are indifferent people on forum, like HaraldX, Mike Crosser, Vedaras and Davrot, who wants to contribute.

MikeCrosser, thanks for your offer, just PM me and tell what you want to do. I will help as much as i can.

I'm sure, there are other people on forums, who wants to help out, too. If they want to earn some caps, even anonymously, there's nothing bad about it, my offer still stands.
Right now, there are 30K caps in my pot, which i plan to spend for everyone willing to help. Also, i can writing a tutorial for Photoshop/Irfanview to improve your workflow.

Vedaras, it is very generous of you to bring in the offer. How would you like to co-fund the Red Head Girl?

Senocular, if you're into Python scripting, it would be interesting to hear your ideas. Frame drawing can't be enough automatised.

Black Widow, the sunglasses must be drawn later, i'm afraid.

edit: By the way, HaraldX just accepted jobs 3 and 4. The set is almost done! Who wants the last one?

I'm a bloody work machine! Actually no, I have a feeling I just might be retarded... Instead of doing my mathematics homework, I help some dude from the forums. I have to say for some reason this "job" has been more entertaining than any of my mathematics lesson I've ever had.

I suppose you find this task more interesting, because you get more appreciation for it atm. You need appreciation for math.

Is there really nobody that wants to grab the money I have left? Well, if nobody signs up until the next time I visit the forums (that is - tomorrow) then I'm taking it, I guess. Now, if nobody minds, I'm proceeding towards my bed to get my daily dose of sleep. Goodbye and goodnight.

Do it, make one frame.
