Yeah, basically I left my tent with my hummer and parked it on the world map beside a mine, then i leave the key with it and walk to the mine from there, so that people can't find it. Now, its dissappeared, hasn't happened in the last couple days until now. Why? Did someone take it? Are people able to see where I park my hummer if I leave it on the world map? Doesn't make alot of sense, maybe someone could enlighten me.

People can encounter cars for first 15 (maybe?) mins of the encounter.

Could you be more specific?
Are you saying that they cant see it there, but it is possible for them to accidentally stumble apon it?
-
Well the person who stumbled apon it returned it, Im still not sure how they found it so hopefully i can learn to avoid it, many thanks to the kind person who brought it back to me.

Can't see it on World Map, but can find it like an encounter.

Returned the hummer back to you at my tent. Good luck, Disease!

encounter is opened 10 minutes. in other words if you leave car on wasteland, other player who's moving on same map square that car, can encounter it. after 10 minutes enco is closed and your car is safe.

This also allows a player to have many "tents" around the world. (IIUC)
I'd like to have one in that city map with the upstairs room that has many containers, but unfortunately would have to hunt for it while driving a caravan car.

awesome, many thanks for this info.

Still the odds of not having your car stolen nearby fuckin' NCR are too risky for someone at your level.
Just keep your hummer chillin' at your base, he'll be useful to move your stuff around when you realize that tents are useless compared to DIY bases.
