Title: Problem connecting to the update and the game server.

Since the last update I have not been enable to update the game "Can't connect to the update server (fonline2238.net)."

I asked my friend to send me the up to date version and replace all the files, thought this didnt change the fact that I couldnt connect.

I have tried many solutions from this thread http://fodev.net/forum/index.php/topic,3853.0.html. Thought they didnt change the fact that I couldnt connect.

I have also tried renewing my ip, I have checked my firewall if it had blocked the ip, I tried if I could run it as an administrator but with no success.

Also the launcher non stop is checking for the online status. The error I get from reading the log is Socket error: 10035 WSAEWOULDBLOCK.

 This error means something like the attempt to connect is blocked.

Even thought this socket error, it is not a new thing I could play the game before the latest update and this error always appeared.
So if anyone got a solution or think they got one, please post it.

Tried to disable the Firewall complete?

Nope, everything is right with the router, even looked around a bit. Couldnt find any problem with the router.

Do you use any kind of software like Spybot Search & Destroy that adds entries to your hosts file?
If so, check your hosts file for the FOnline IP-adres. It might be blocked in there.

Sadly no blocked ip in the host file...
I can agree with using Teamviewer if someone thinks that looking would help you help me ;D.

Sadly I have done that too... And I have also gotten the latest copy from my friend.
I even checked for something that seemed off in the register but couldnt find anything that seemed off.  :(

Well I had been thinking of using a proxy, and I tried it just now. I can log in but sadly too much lag with a proxy...

Thought this shows theres something wrong with the connection wich makes it somewhat easier to figure out the issue.

I have renewed my local ip, and calling my isp to change my ip is to much of an effort.

If you can, try using another Computer and make an attempt to connect to the Server.

Ive tried that and it doesnt work there either...
So, either some problems with the router or my ip is blocked.

wait few months, game will be more balanced and maybe your problem will disapear by itself :P, kidding


i had similar problem on at home, but iam using VPN of my brother and i can play smoothly
