If you know what channel zero used to be before radios were off by default, you will not wish for shoutbox.

An in-game chat is different in many, many ways.

You can limit shoutbox for users with 20 or more posts (example), and perma-ban them by their user or IP.
If they are really willing to spam, to the point where they will change their IP to bypass that, then let them spam. It is no different than forum flood.

It is an easy, quick way for getting quick answers or just chit-chatting. You could also just put a button where you can minimize/disable it.

1 - Not as quick as shoutbox.
2 - My browser does not support it, and I can't download anything. How can I have a quick answer and chit-chat, BRO?
3 - For the layman, the shoutbox is way better.

I can go all the way through over 9000 if you want.

Answer first how do I get to IRC without downloading it and without browser support.

I literally can't do any of both. I'm @ work, limitations rule my soul.

But the shoutbox works just fine. I ain't trying to be funny, it does work fine here.

i remember myself long time ago constantly spamming +request help to complain about griefer and ganker in the game. jovanka arrived and listened to my whining. 10 minutes lol. then said something like, "its just bytes. on the computer, you know". such a patience for newbis..  :-[

You have a good chance of getting a ban if you abuse +requesthelp.

Also FYI, the +requesthelp goes to a random GM so don't do this to talk with a particular GM,
even if it's something important. Use IRC.
