It's an endgame pistol that takes one more ap, does 5 less damage, has 5 less range, takes 2 more str and has half the ammo capacity of a mag laser pistol, which is a low level weapon.

Now compare the resistances of normal damage and lazer on armors, once you done that take in consideration the 223. pistols ammunition DR mod, in the end it doesn't have to rely only on bypasses to do some sort of damage. 223. pistol is more reliable in a way, no need to change anything.

-20 dr? Ml has penetrate. Only thing that ew is useless against is tesla/metal. Reg dmg has toughness and other things to deal with.

Not everyone has toughness( or is some kind of psycho tank ), and if you haven't noticed MAmk2 is the most popular armor. Yeah, that DR actually helps. Penetrate is like few points of damage it's DT/3, for single shot weapons that's close to nothing if you have to divide MA 4 DT with 3. ;D Because the weapon perk sounds cool, doesn't mean it's good.

instas can happen like that even with a bb gun. its all about the luck roll.

I just checked, they fixed tesla armors crit modifiers. I really don't think 223. pistol is in a bad shape, maybe lazer pistol is better shooting bluesuits/leather jackets, but that's it.

Pistolero was somewhat good build last session but now critbursts dominate medium range so it's not feasible to make pistoler char.

I've tried SD .223 pistol and magneto-laser and I think 223 is slightly better when it comes to the alpha strike imho (but the one extra AP is pain in the ass).
