howdy fallout fans, i am trying a game that is old as fallout: The Thief Series. just finished Thief Gold and now whant to instal The Metal Age, but i have a problem
when i run sttup.exe i get this error:
Setup is unable to locate the layout file 'f:\LAYOUT.BIN' which is needed to complete the instalation.
Error 112
can anyone help me, google is of no use
-
The errors tells it all. You don't have file layout.bin. Try and download another installation for the game.

ouch looks like your cd may be scratched or something
it hurts your wallet but you could buy thief2 again and download from GOG.com (not sure if they have thief2 though,
-
If you already bought it, I see no problem getting the game by other means. So yeah.

maybe this helps? looks dangerous though..

well, as a matter of fact i have the official thief series original, but CDs are scrached, so i used torrent to get them(i think it is legal)
but i took some studies and looks like the Thief 2 isos are to small, they are misssing a lot of data, so i am downloading it from other source
-
That is still technically illegal as you help others who have not bought the games attain them when you torrent.
-
half my games are original and half are torrent, thief 1 2 DS and fallout 1 2 T 3 are original

Isos compress data into a smaller file, it doesn't mean it's missing anything.
What you need to do is unpack your iso into a folder and then run the installer
