Not a whine topic,really.
Just,can someone make a list about what stable fonline/like servers are out there,express their feeling about pros and cons,and what are the char building rules over there..?Some links would be really appreciated.Also a clean,polite discussioon about.
Just to have something to do when you come back from work,your girlfriend got headache,you think *who fuckin cares,let s play fonline*,and the server is down.

FOnline: REQUIEM 4session has 84 players right now and had 150 last night.
BUT it is in russian :( If it wasn't i'd play it. I actually tried but I couldn't get it to connect.

Interesting,but failed to connect myself.And shouldn t be that smooth if it got so little players...

Maybe you tried to connect with 2238 client. They also say on their page that you shouldn't run updater.
It's played mostly by Russian-speaking people and there is middle of night in Russia in the moment.

What? You can go sleep or w/e and come back tomorrow/later today to check if 2238 is up.

There is a launcher on their site where you just get that and select from the servers and it downloads the right files. Mine is doing it right now, will let you know if it works.
And isn't TLAmk2 russian aswell?

Well I just finished downloading the arma 2 games on steam and am setting up Day z now. So I will play that for a while.

Ok I just got on the server, just select TLA MK2 in that launcher and let it download.
The start area atleast is in english. I'm gonna go play and see how it goes.

TLA mk2 is english and it seems be populated, but i dont know how to get out from slave camp. you also cant run in battle wtf? the rest is fine.

you need to be lvl 3 atleast, if I remember correctly.

I got out of there but then it starts to go russian.
Shame because it is alot more interesting than the 2238 server, they have many more npcs and differences in towns so far.

-500 coins (kill geckos -> collect hides -> sell its)
-talk Tom in cave (http://tlamk2.ru/wiki/images/2/20/Thom.png) . He help you to remove the explosive collar for only 500 coins.

This sounds kinda intruguing. And the whole replication system reminds me of Lukyanenko scifi works.
You'd need access to the server files, which you won't have by default (you can access the TLA ones from the SDK obviously). Dialogues are in \Server\dialogs, and are .fodlg files, which can be opened as text files. You can run it line by line through a translator, but you'll have to manually edit the spacing and syntax in certain places. You could always practice a bit on the SDK version, then offer to do the same for MK2.
There's also a load of stuff in \Server\text\engl as well. Again, can be opened in a text editor.

Take a look at FOnline Australia, I think it might be worth a try once it is released. I just discovered this mod, so I don't know much about it.

Sorry but I have to ask is it true that TLA is worse than 2238?

I wouldn't say it's worse, TLA clones in general are different. Some people like it, some don't. Compared to 2238, TLAmk2 has greater combat timer (30-40 seconds), you cannot run during a combat, crafting is imho much more complicated, farming is fun, because there is a lot of various encounter types, also you meet Fallout 2 and even some new special encounters. There is no TC, almost all towns are protected (which doesn't mean you cannot kill there, you just need a huge army of players to kill all NPCs). There are only 4 drugs on TLAmk2 (buffout, jet, psycho and mentats) and builds have mostly about 600 hp. In contrast to requiem, there is no terminator perk, only sniper perk which gives you some chance to hit when aiming. Level cap is 36. Also alting is quite problematic, because you always need to reach level 4 to leave a traning area.
These are my observations about FOnline TLAmk2. Just try it, maybe it's the FOnline game you've been always looking for ;)

Last time I tried tla mk2 it was all in russian, getting from the starting location took forever (i had to get those 500 caps twice, because i accidentally steped on landmine when leaving), friend of mine had character that couldn't die and world map travel was slow as hell. I got bored after a while.
Starting location is now completely translated into english, though I didn't like it as well. Once you get out of there, it's much more fun.
