Title: Farming: bigger means better
Post by: Rio on April 29, 2012, 01:39:28 am
I was farming today in group of 10 brave people and when I was waiting 10 minutes for my turn I was thinking. Most of people farm alone becasue its faster and more effective. Maybe devs can think too and add some bonus for groups. For example better weapons to obtain(3+ group), some chance to meet NPCs with car(5+ group) or sometimes meet enemies in base like depot which can be captured (10 people group). What do you think?

Radio -> multiple logs -> mercenary usage = bad

That means players only and in that case i think it's a good idea to encourage farming in groups , it is fun , but not rewarding at the moment , nor efficient.

Not everyone is so pro(sick) to make 10 alts only to have 2% chance to meet enemies in base. I think it can make farming more interesting.

More people means bigger groups, i'd think this would be enough.

Maybe for the minor groups, like leather jacket raiders. If anything.

Cars don't seem right to me, i donno. Not many groups seem like they would use them.
Bases? I'll just say no.

I don't see much wrong with how it is now, but i don't play with groups often.

Maybe these 'brave people' should try Real-Time  :D

While not every group would have cars, certain groups might, and it would be a nice reward/find for group hunting.

A base also sounds nice, but... i'd say not to capture, but having some loot in containers would be a possibility.

I can think of a few ideas...
> A small raiders camp with a large group of raiders, lockers containing drugs and ammo.
> 8-man patrol (hub? ncr? initiates?) with a broken down hummer. Perhaps you could fix it? Or strip it for parts? Or just grab the equipment in the trunk and leave?
> A ranger sniper nest, a few snipers, some traps. With a stash of ammo.
> Caravans
> Ants nest (lots of ants, perhaps some soldier ants) maybe even fire ants.

So theres potential for smaller encounters that wont make you rich but could still be fun. While were at it some more fun caves would be nice.

I actually like this, because normal large ants/tough ants are just useless in FOnline 2238.
There should be even stronger ants than those (Good example soldier ants and fire ants)
Soldier ant could be black and fire ant of course red (Same fire animation than with fire gecko, but weaker attack)

Maybe in nests some treasures?

I miss the Caravan quests from Fallout 2, they were so fun.
