I was having a conversation with a gangmate about memes, and came up with this idea. We can use this thread as a place to archive the memes that belong to the 2238 community.
How is this different to "Fonline lolpics (http://fodev.net/forum/index.php/topic,17525.msg144459.html#msg144459)"?
The pictures posted in that other thread use already existing memes that are not exclusively of this community, make jokes about stuff that happens/has happened in 2238 but are not really memes, etc. This thread is for memes that are born and move inside our community, and they're not necessarily pictures.
How is this different to "Epic Quotes (http://fodev.net/forum/index.php/topic,11940.msg98528.html#msg98528)"?
The quotes posted there are simply funny phrases, but not always memes that belong to this community.
How is this different to both?
When you read "Epic Quotes" or "Fonline lolpics", you expect to have a laugh. Humor is not "the" goal of this thread, although the content included here will most probably be funny. This is especially meant to work as an archive we can use to have quick access to our memes, it will help new players understand them, etc.

xoen was a Polish player. He lost a cow. Then he submitted a bug report (screenshot (http://i41.tinypic.com/bdnxxz.png)). But it was only a beginning... a few hours later in Polish section he started flame-rage topic about his brahmin that in 5 (five) hours reached 35 (yes, thirty five) pages. Since then xoen's cow is mentioned sometimes in some funny context.

soon and no idea
These are 2 usual dev/GM answers. The first one is used when player asks when will be wipe or update or other specific time/date and the asked person doesn't know or can't give an answer. In any other case when asked person doesn't understand/doesn't know answer, the second one can be used. "no idea" (and lazy form "ni") was invented by Rusty and adopted by other GMs. "soon" appeared in 2009 when a wipe was announced to early.

toilet control
With the implementation of the "King of the hill" zones in town-control (TC), where the attacking gang needs to stay in a marked area, it has become common behaviour to stay inside houses and other structures with 1 entrance and therefor easy to defend. Sometimes the local town toilets where used for this and they were crowded with heavy armed forces from time to time. As TC can also mean toilet control this word found many likers pretty fast.

This is FOnline, not Fallout or "This isn't Fallout anymore!"
Expressions used to highlight the fact that FOnline is a totally different game if compared to the original Fallout games (usually referring to FO1 and 2). Can be for different reasons: interaction between players, lack of RPG content, lack of immersion, or simply the presence of elements that contradict the Fallout canon.

Ape or PvP ape
Can refer to:
1 - the most common form of a powerplayer in FOnline: a player who is very interested in TC/PvP, and wants to be able to participate and be competent in it, not caring about game atmosphere, and sometimes not even about game rules. This can go from the mere creation of a lot of specialized alts and stealing from NPC factions, to abusing exploits.
2 - a specific ingame character with a minimaxed, drug-using build, useful for PvP combat only (and mostly Real Time, and Town Control), usually backed by many alts that belong to the same player or their faction.
NCR AFKers
Usually a synecdoche used to talk about "noobs". New players often go AFK while standing in towns, instead of moving to Worldmap, because they are unaware of the risk of being stolen from or even killed. This expression mentions NCR/Shady Sands not only because it tends to be the most populated location (except for northern towns during TC) but also because of the many thieves, suicide bombers and trolls you can find there. This makes NCR bazaar a dangerous place and going AFK in there is considered to be a sign of a lack of experience in the player. The expression also reminds of the "North/South" opposition.
North and South
Most of the towns located in the northern "hemisphere" of the worldmap are unprotected TC places, while most of the towns in the South are protected. Because of this, words like "North" or "northern" are usually related to PvP and PvP players, while "South" and "southern" refer to activities and players not so related to PvP (newbies, roleplayers, etc).

An alternative to "wasteland is harsh (http://fodev.net/forum/index.php/topic,23486.msg195548.html#msg195548)", this is sometimes said by PKs as a fake excuse when killing for no reason. The joke lies in the opposition between PvP and RP (usually viewed as opposite concepts in FOnline) - the PK says he is playing the role of a raider as if this would overcome the opposition and make both elements coexist in his gameplay, but obviously this is not true and he is just killing for the sake of it.

Sometimes poeple mean it when they say this, sometimes it's a joke about the prejudice that every single thing that contradicts or is thought to contradict the game mechanics is the product of a drunk and bored GM who logged in just to troll players by abusing his powers.

Enumi
A commonly used term by french PvP players, who are generally PK factions who yell this on mumbles when they see a unarmed bluesuit that entered New Reno Commercial. And causes a faction of 5 or an entire 20 person alliance to chase after such blue suit with avenger mini guns.
Pronounced En OOO meee
Enumis are generally random blue suit traders, random clueless noobs, and proxy sneakers who are to be focused fired upon by a pvp faction when the order is given by a french player who speaks some english and shouts Enumi Enumi!!!!!!!!!!
The History of Enumi
Enumi was founded sometime last year when there was a random alliance who fought in New Reno which consisted of a french player who went by the name "Greasy Killer" after many hours fighting in New Reno Enumi was a routine order to execute all who entered new reno commercial last wipe. Because this was a very hilarious thing to hear while fighting in new reno, a few players who played in this random alliance started an inside joke "Enumi". Enemi is a funny memory of the good times players had last wipe endlessly fighting in New Reno. The person who came up with enemy being spelled enumi was founded by a player who didn't have a mic at the time wrote in chat "enumi enumi ratatatatat" making a joke about the french player seeing a blue suit. And that is how Enumi was born.
The Enumi troll face picture was also founded after this moment. The Enumi trollface picture consits of a stick figure with an avenger mini-gun with the troll face poorly pasted as the stick figures head, and the words "enumi" posted above his head written in yellow implying that its the in game text that appears over somebody head when they type a message to another player. The picture was posted on the forum but the thread was deleted and has floated about in the #2238 irc channel.
Picture well be posted agian in this thread soon after the original artists gets back from vacation.

The phrase itself is widely known within the playerbase and is connected to a player named "Mabus". The reference in general, tough, also describes the behaviour of players who "scream" about buying or selling stuff within protected cities (mostly NCR) or IRC. While in most MMO's something like this is happening in a way that players dont really have to listen to it, it can be kind of annoying in FOnline.

When the server goes offline and there is a rollback, and because of this you lose the products of your effort and/or time spent on the game (for example, you had levelled a character and it goes back to a low level, or you've been farming a lot but now you have to do it again), you prefer to call that rollback a "trollback" instead.

i did not even understand the word meme and just posted something in comparison to the other post´s.
thought i understood the core essence of it. the holy wiki says: "a meme or fad that spreads quickly through the Internet."
if you wants the belts tighter with the signification it's maybe not the right place for highly intellectual discussions about the specific sense of cyberspace words. especially not in tribal english :)
