i dont understand how i seen a cave base today with tents outside it i bought a cave base and it didnt have any tents ouitsdie it can anyone help please

there are 2 versions of cave base, one with tents and one without.

AFAIK, you got two dialogue options. To buy a base for 30k (without tents outside the cave) or to buy a base for 34k? (with the tents outside the cave).

Because whole base system is obsolete, even bases offers great potential. Base maintaining that need resources that could be obtained in cities=> repopulation of cities, base defending/attacking, stealing and countermeasures.
But after almost 3 years of beta, you get tents infront of a cave...

i, for one, kinda like the new cave. too bad mine spawned too far from NCR, in an unreachable area.

GoofyDeputyDope, please. You dont want to be outsmarted again. For your information, new sentences starts with capital letters, not only in English, but in most world languages. (Except Chinese,..).
The thing i was talking about and was zilion times suggested and even admited by developers, is kind of base resources, like water (Fallout 1,..). Generators in your bases was designet to consume another resource, i.e. to support defensive turrets to destroy invaders.
Similar concepts are working in TLA and Requiem. On 2238, you get a tent infront of a cave. Do you see difference?

for me all fine with all bases, maybe scrapheap and outpost is abit hard to craft, and almost impossible to buy for 120k. (even very easy to craft if thinking of buy them for caps in random area).

Johnny, this is free discusion and i can post my opinion to single post. My opinion was that every work made should have its own gameplay element.
Do you remember, how i teach you, during your map development, that good map is not only about to put a lot of graphics and two or three pieces of new one at mix it together, but good maps has its own gameplay element, like Glow broken elevator generator trap? I have to remind you, that you did not even know about Glow feature, and you did not even though about map creating in this way, until i explained how Glow works and gently suggest you, that your map, almost finished, should have similar gameplay mechanism, so it would not be only inert graphic area.
Do you remember, that i told you that you are a good architect of map, but you forget to be a screenwriter of map gameplay?
And this is exactly i pointed here. New maps are implemented, but without any reason, any purpose.
Did you played Requiem? They have hierarchy of 3 bases. You need previous to get another. Lowest tier bases is required to participate in PVE scenarios. Higher tier bases grands you more and better outcome from that. => It is called multiplayer PVE = CONTENT, and it is something you as a contributor and developers rezignate to implement in their MMORPG project, and replaced it with "tents infront of the cave".

P.S.: Both of us are on same mumble, you dont need to post it here, if you want something to tell me. Raise your authority in fonline community by creating good maps with good gameplay elements, not by verbal attack on myself. I am cheap victim, your karma is only +1 in 1000 points scale ;)

yes, we should add more "functionality" to bases to make them a pain in the arse to maintain just because some guy on 2238 forum likes making shit suggestions that aren't of any relevance to this game's gameplay and style.
base is a place to store your items, not do quests or more boring tasks ok? besides there's more shit that needs to be fixed and that is of WAY higher priority.

I agree. Your maps are only yours. But you tried to add something special to your maps, after our discussion. Do you remember your attention, when i told you that after char visit your underground of dungeon, the lights could turn off and you would need to find exit in the absolute darkness, or using flares? Do you remember, how you later discus this idea with one scripter, if this is possible? Or idea with locked doors, random spawning key and raising radiation? Same annoying request on scripter that already worked on his own project.
But johnny, i still agree with you. Your maps are only your work, seriously, and i am exciting from your next work, that should be, hopefully, something more than inert hexes of graphic.

Ok Johnny. You are right. But tell me, will new cave map with tents outside makes this game better? Will 2 more tents brings 2 more player into the game? Oh, i dont think so.
And why i am not contributing.. because its a way to easy to correct other people dumb or unfinished work, than make content to project that has not even 200 players online. And of course, i have a job and a i work on my flat, you know. Real structure where people live, cook, f..k ... . But i dont ruin this topic. Map of 2 tents outside the cave ruins fonline.. when you would realize this, maybe people would go back.

cave with 2 tents outside and different interior was just few hours work i spent hundreds of hours working on other bigger stuff.

Lizard, few sessions before, i made few ingame content project, radio, church.. so in general a more than most of every other player here. Of course, you can admit that it was sh.t, temporary,..., but i did something.
But whole absurdity of this topic is fact, that it turned me into the devil, because i dont contribute, but real contibutors, proven, do shitty work without any idea how to hold or bring players back. They "only" create nice maps with potential to be abandoned or only once visited in the game. The easiest thing they can do is to open fonline.ru and using google translate to look at their work, that is a miles ahead, because they put in every new map some gameplay element. Or try TLA or Requiem for a while. But i am the devil who dont contribute and ruin this topic, only because i pointed on that problem.
And i think that i am not only one, who post his opinion to some ideas and post. Maybe i will disappoint you, but i dont "contribute" to every post or every topic. I dont have even most posts on here :) But if there is any place, where the ratio of work/game content is in favour to content, i point it.

I also haven't stated that you did nothing - you're quite a time around at 2238. Don't also start to crying in my shoulder - and you're right, fonline.ru are more grateful for the content, that's why they're...well, not miles ahead, but what the playerbase do there is indeed very impressive.

As any other postcommunism country, they have less money. So simply, they cannot afford better hardware to play best games. But this is not main reason, why they love Fallout. It is because former Soviet union was party of bilateral world, where both sides threaten another by atomic arsenal. Also after collapse of their industry (after fall of soviet regime), they have a lot of wasted industrials areals that looks like they survived apocalypse. This makes them fallout fanatics. But to make good fonline and its content, they need skill too. I think that they are used to do a lot of services, works themselfs, because quality services and goods were in short supply during Soviet era.
But why are their projects miles ahead? Because they follow basic idea. Create content that generates content. Most of their maps or news are designed to support players interaction. I.e. they create map player faction, that is located under Klamath. So they dont need to spend a dozen of hours to create and balance "guarded town system". Players guard that place themselves, because they are located in that place. You can attack enemy bases, but also you can defend them (turrets, sandbags, mines). Only reason why i dont play their server more often is becaues of community. Not because they are bad. Their anti PK factions are much more consistent then in 2238. But because relationship made on 2238 and of course, language barrier.

The only problem I have with the new cave base with tents (You know the topic of the actual first post of this thread?!!?) is that they took away the 3 lockers inside side by side. I love the added sleeping area, and the stuff outside. But really think for usability it isn't as good as the original cave. As far as the 2 page whine fest between people, well it's just a lot of crying.
The only thing that I feel should be increased in bases is a similar idea as to what someone posted earlier in this thread, though it was far from their own idea, and that is bases having automated systems, and the use of resources. Mostly I would love to see places like the cave and Bunker have better lighting, mechanical doors (bunker) maybe turrets if you can afford to build them, requiring having the power generators working at 100%, meaning you might need parts, repair, and maybe some power cells. This could be a way that allows for bases to have more advanced crafting features, if you have the base up to spec you can have the better crafting tables. If it falls to disrepair than you can't use them. I think it would not only bring back some of the crafting features lost in this session with the addition of the new workbenches, but it would give people more to work for in their bases, and maybe add some use for more teamwork. Worst case people just do what they already do and make a million alts to do all the jobs.

there's 5 lockers inside and 5 more containers on the outside. if you count the bookcase and the part above the workbench there's a total of 7 containers inside, which brings the total to about 12 containers.

Wow I totally failed a perception check there. You are absolutely right, so then I just say I wish they would bring in the other stuff of having generators and better advances in base services.
