Title: Hinkley changes
Post by: Roachor on April 04, 2012, 08:57:28 pm
-Remove in cha for getting equipment, this is for pvp builds not rp.
-Add mk2 flamer, flamer mk2 is already a useless flavour weapon due to range, reg flamer does 50-80 dmg with both perks it is unable to kill anything.

The IN requirement is ridiculous. I went there today for the first time in a few months, tried to get my gear, was like "hahah oh wow, really?", asked my teammates whether this bs was serious and just left without playing. I'm really curious whose idea was it, because it doesn't serve any practical purpose aside from maybe griefing on the part of the dialogue maker. I mean it could just as well be a joke, but if that's the case it failed and it makes competing a chore for PvP builds that are otherwise perfectly viable.

Fun fact: removing that would take one double click, loading a .fodlg file, one single click, pressing delete, saving the file and committing it to the server. I bet the update fixing this issue is going to hit "soon", if ever.

you just need to make a hinkley alt to sandbox him in and give you gear because that's what the devs want, right?

I still remember a readme or something from when I first discovered fonline that said not to make too many alts to decrease server load. oh well.

No , keep a logged off character near outfitter. No need to use sandbox and legally cheat.

When i tried to say "hey that requirement for INT is just stupid, remove it" in past, noone supported me. But yeah, that requirement is just stupid and should be removed.

You don't get to bring items in, it's a pointless tax and just adds another layer of annoying item taxiing to the game. The game needs to be more accessible not less so.

@RavenousRat: Very funny .... not.

NCR provides service that shouldnt come for free, just like trains. Might bring all those hardcore Hinkleyers to real battlefield at north.

Anyway it wasnt originally my idea, but I like it and wanna see what do you think about it. Of course, I agree with all those flamers, charisma and shit.

Hinkley is a sandbox tool for testing pvp, not really part of the rp aspect of the game. That people think hinkley pvp is better than real pvp has more to do with the fact the maps were designed for it and the lack of tedious farming of equipment in order to engage in short lived battles. Not to mention that the current tc system seems to discourage combat in favor of being afk.

Where did you get this ? Is it official statement from devs ? I guess not.

You = people ? Lots of people think otherwise (including myself). Fight itself is very artificial, because theres nothing to lose, players dont know each other and hardly cooperate and maps are very straightforward.

Again, how do you know this ? Because Ive never seen any of your characters in any northern town since wipe.

Obvious by it's very purpose and existance

"You = people ? Lots of people think otherwise (including myself). Fight itself is very artificial, because theres nothing to lose, players dont know each other and hardly cooperate and maps are very straightforward."

Not me, but some people apparently since they say it keeps people from doing real pvp

"Again, how do you know this ? Because Ive never seen any of your characters in any northern town since wipe."

Not all my chars are in my sig, and i play sneaker when i pvp since my real pvp builds aren't fully levelled yet. Only tc pvp ive engaged in involved slaughtering afk players all huddled north oh residential and standing in gecko waiting for someone to show up. It doesn't take much experience to see the current tc system is retarded and can be accomplished without firing a shot.
