Title: How do you avoid getting caught?

More than half the time I have a random event near NCR, as soon as I'm done killing the monsters or taming the brahmin, somebody with expensive armor shows up and kills me and takes everything. Is there any way to avoid this. thanks

Go hunt more far from NCR, too much people around there.

that will only stop him from popping in unannounced on other people, im pretty sure it's only the finders outdoor skill that counts.
