Title: So I bring my slaves to vortis
Post by: Roachor on March 28, 2012, 06:51:33 pm
And on entering ncr they are immediately killed by a mass of spawned guards. Not the default guards mind you, the crap gms like to spawn all over ncr when they get bored. You know what I'm talking about, you enter ncr and there are like 50 npcs running around the bazaar. The slaves were non hostile and vortis is the only slaver in a safe town, why the hell are my slaves being killed? This happened previously too when all the npcs in town were all exploding and respawning instantly, was mostly guards but my slaves decided to get in on the act too. I know it wasn't guards killing them because all their stuff was left in a neat little pile.

1400 caps every few minutes isn't too bad, haven't tried any slave runs.

you will make more from slave runs. i wont tell how much at max you can make to keep everyone from doing it but its enough. you can do slave run every 2 hours. need 160 rep for it goes down to 150 when you finsh one, bring 2 more slaves wait 2 more hours and repeat.

You best edit that post before the quest gets nerfed.

That was already discussed.  So far, it hasn't been nerfed.

I explained that in all my time of playing this has happened only once.

It's like a .01% chance of occurring :P.

BTW:  On-Topic, this could be similar issue, where mobster in New reno would auto-attack follower npcs.  But I haven't had such an issue in ncr before.

Honestly the slaving runs are the best designed quest in the game right now, it's actually fun. The high caps return means people will be more likely to dump into a vendor than to hoard it and vendors are seriously cash starved for the common player. Being a follower char without the ability to buy high level mercs often enough to be able to replace lost ones quickly due to caps shortage severely limits it's playability for players without large faction warchests. Damn you caravan runs though, my laser pistol fires kitten farts at Metal armour.

This.

Slave run is very entertaining in itself, and worth the effort/risk.  (YES, THERE IS RISK PEOPLEZ)

It's perfect as is.

Well the slave run difficulty has been ramped up now, went to slave camp and about 15 hostiles with melee weapons.

you get 4 guys with shotguns.

they get 15 bastards with throwing knives spears and sledgehammers....

Needless to say, there's always a casualty(s).

Protip: Bring Female trapper slaves with you, between 6 of those and my 14 ap lp build most slave runs take 2 turns at most. You can send the your slaves right next to the guards before you initiate the mission, they don't stand a chance.

Yeah, this.

I normally just grab my sledgy mercs and make sure they're between the slaves and the slavers so they tank the damage.

if by semi safe you  mean russian guy in metal armor mk 2 and minigun  killing of people than yeah, its pretty safe.
there is no really semi safe on north.guarded towns are semi-safe
