How to cut wood i try on evry tree and it says nothing and on  evry stump it says ther is not much avaible

Find good tree, You should get "hand" icon when you move your cursor on it.

When you find it just use hatchet on it.

but your arrow over a tree if it shows a open hand then it is cutable if not then its just a tree to be a tree.

You can only cut trees from encounters in mountain areas. Usually with a cave next to the trees.

There is also cutting tress in city ruins. But only one of the maps but it is a common map.

Usually all green tree you can cut, you too can cut with primitive tool.

if u search near ncr, try zone 30:30 and around. there are alot of trees.
