For all those people who may have screwed up where they put their points(like myself 5 minutes ago), I'm suggesting an option to reset the points entered during the last level up. This will prevent people from drastically changing their build while no longer screwing them over forever for having made a mistake.

Roachor, seriously, the devs are not responsible fo flaws of their playerbase =) If someone is being mistaken at some point, it is not a good reason to make a anti-retard feature.
-
If you pick the wrong perk, then yeah. That's bad.
But if you add skillpoints to the wrong skill, you can press the - sign and remove them if you have not clicked "Done."

The point of a game is to have fun, not be frustrated by stupid design choices. Just look at skill tree in diablo vs every other game with a skill tree since then, they almost always have an option to refund points.

dont press done, when you chose skillpoints and make mistake :/ you pressed its your fault

Well, i would go deeper in the suggestion, by proposing a command to actually reset all skills and perks. And why not stats and traits as well.
The game being in beta, and all players having not the time to actually level up bazillion of characters, this would help at least going faster in spotting bug, issue, imbalance and also give a chance to peoples who made characters long time ago to redraw their old char fitting the change made into the game mechanics since months now. Since there is wipe now and then, i do not see this as a big issue.
Of course this would require either a cooldown for each use of this command or a number of uses.
Exemple of command:
~resetpoints skills/perks/stats/all

That suggestion sounds fine by me. This kind of feature with approximately 24h cooldown would be fine and hard to abuse,

I was more thinking about a week.

Gonna be really useful to check all play styles without creating new char. Especially if you bored of using same weapon type and/or playing style. It'll decrease number of newly created chars - good for server.
But may be there must be any requirements like min. level of char or something. So you need, for example, atleast 10 or 12 or 15 level for this. And after doing that command (or talking to special NPC) you being able to create new char, can't change name/age/gender. And then getting so much XP as you got before. But I think it's not so easy to make...

You missed the point, you can only redistribute the points from your last level up, this way people can't exploit it. It wouldn't actually set your level back, it would be more like when you distribute the points then change areas and when you check your screen your points haven't been spent yet.

There could even be a cost in xp, levels, and/or caps. And/or a tedious quest where you have to trek the map to collect special herbs for a witch doctor to erase your memory or something. Anything would be better than having to start over for a minor error due to the player's less than encyclopedic knowledge of the inner workings of the GURPS/SPECIAL system :P
Also, allowing people to reset/refund stats/skills/traits/perks would mean fewer alt characters and therefore less useless data clogging the servers? Even with the 10 min cooldown, I feel that having alt characters kills the RP/teamplay experience in any online game since you can be entirely self-sufficient using them.

don't think it's a wise feature to implement
this way, players can just create a power build (skill wise) to lvl up asap
and at the very last lvl, he can get his pvp build/crafter build
from uber crafter to uber sniper, sounds dangerous AND unlogical
-
As said previously, this is Beta and this feature is need to test out stuff without having to recreate character every time.
Also, there will be always peoples to abuse bug and some who report (could be the same depending if that help them or not, but that's another story)
And last point there's not only player with complete knowledge of all the game mechanics around, and this could help them to at least correct some mistakes.

Oh my god what the hell do you guys not understand? THIS DOES NOT RESET ALL YOUR POINTS, JUST THE ONES SET AT THE LAST LEVEL UP.

Nope, they started other suggestion in your thread. As you can see, this is beta, so that's why they suggest this.

1. I already suggested that weeks ago.
2. It got shot down.
