Have these encounters been removed?
-
All caravans are.
-
Temporarily or permanently?
-
Gone until they'll be replaced by real caravans, not encounters.

So we can't meet them on the global map or it will be just traders without guards?)
-
This could be an interesting element to PVP if real caravans will involve encounters w/other players...or totally exploited by big gangs...interesting though.
-
There are no caravans there, I think there's still the odd trader encounter with a couple of guards somewhere though

What does it means?

I think the assumption is, all caravans will have a real player(s) plus npcs
-
Or, with lack of real players, maybe it means that caravans will move with real routes, instead of being random encounters, based on zone chance of encounter.

YES, i hope they keep looted stuff and use unique NPCs, maybe even with names and dialogs for each one, since all NPCs at cityes respawn i dont see a reason for not to make caravans have personality.

You mean a merchant party? yes those are still there. But they carry hunting rifles and mausers, so they aren't a farming source.

I hope there are gona be implemented real caravans, players + NPC with great loot inside. And other players could hunt for them and make traps for them. It would be great addition to TB PvP. New great feature.

Or infiltrate them and screw everyone up. Some friends infiltrate the caravan and act as spotters for his ambushing friends. It's more than likely to happen, unless it's tied to tc and only controllers and selected friends can join the caravan.
But best be silent and see what's coming.
