I heard that there are some quests that give blueprints as reward...Is that just a rumor?
If not, where are these said quests?

For the record if that is true that would be AWESOME.
Also anyone care to start working on creating the new quests for the wiki?
Its horribly outdated and gives wrong/misleading info on quests.

I found one, for .223 Pistol blueprint, in Junktown.
At power house (right bottom side of town) you can ask a scientist in white lab coat about broken robot. High Science (100+) and Repair (150+) could be useful to do this successful.

In quest for weapon merchatn in hub oldtown, guns delivery, i got blueprint for caws

Really? I only got some caps (cant remember number) and 150 bullets from him!!!

Yes, I was doing this quest earlier and it give me to 150 10mm ammo, but yesterday another character i got, less money, less epx but blueprint.

Did this with my main... normal quest chain without special conversation options... 400 caps some 10mm.
THEN tried to do it again with high CH barter alt... could convince marshall that gun runners would deliver faster if i would bring 10 metal parts and 12 gunpowder boxes... i have the item but marshall wont take them... any ideas?

weird, i dont have high barter 12, and talk only once to gun merchants, then gunrunners, and its ended, mayby bug ? or lucky barter/speach roll ?

I also got to the point where he asks for the 10 metal parts and 12 gunpowders. I left and returned with what he asked and when I tried to get that conversation he actually told me
"Dont even try, its not gonna be faster" or something to that effect and the quest updated to "new contract". It was at that point that I returned and got the caps and bullets reward.
Is it a speech/charisma thing to get him to accept the items HE JUST ASKED YOU to get?

for it seems to be a bug... i can constantly choose the option of bringing him the 10 parts 12 gunpowders but my quest status is not updated in the pipboy... that could be why i cant actually give him the stuff he wants

In same building is quest for repair and optimize station. Require electronic parts, how to use them and where to use them ? Dialog/use on/science ? Maybe this quest have BP reward too :D

you have to get the parts from guy in JT first and give them to the scientist in reactor building. after that spam repair on the 3 reactors, when succeeded spam science on 3 reactors... the pull lever on 3 reactors... profit (1k-3k caps depending on stats and or skills) did not gave bp for me though

Did the Hub quest again with char with 100+ speech... could convince jacob that the gun runners need more time because of the high auality stuff they're creating... after that i got 400 caps AND the blueprint ;-)

then i got lucky, my 3Ch and 12 speach character :P

its strange the barter char i tried with earlier had 10 ch 150 barter and 50 speech... i dont get it :D

Tried that with my 3 CH lumberjack char, 12% speech but 2000+ reputation at Gun Runners. Maybe that allowed me to convince Marshall, dunno.
CAWS blueprint received, 400 caps, 100x 10mm AP and some XP.

there is an other quest to get 4 ( or 5, dont remember) blueprints .
the gunrunner quest with mutant. first you need 4 other player with you and go on the mutant cave (gunrunner give you the place when you get the quest)once you have killed every mutants you can lockpick a door in north and get a gun runner metal box. open the box and you'll get4 bluerprints(Ithink they are always the same BP in because we made it 2 time with my team and get 2 time the same blueprints).. hope I have help you .

Saying they are always the same because you did it twice is like saying all criticals are the same because you got two and they both did the same. (This is no way reflects if they are or are not the same blueprints at all times, this is just a statement about making an assumption based on doing something twice)

He did it twice, other people did it twice. It's nowhere near hasty to say that the quest pays out the same every time.

You forgot to mention Gun Runners won't give you any other quest, if you do this. Not that you can't just make an alt and take it again, but if someone wants to keep good relations with GR on his favourite character, better do not open the box.

They keep telling me I am too weak to be their bit...er their mercenary and I am now level 8, charisma 4 and Big Gunner build...

That case of weapons the gunrunners give for the courier quests... can you open it and take the stuff in it? Is it something worth it?
I only have 1 character and dont want to risk it...

Yeah, you can. Case is rigged with explosives and secured by strong lock, so prepare an alt with decent Traps and Lockpick to pass through.
Of course after losing the case (by open it, let it be stolen, drop somewhere, die with it in encounter) you won't get next case, ever. Is it worth opening? Well, for a few bullets and one or two guns? I don't think so.

I just did generators quest and got 1000 caps. I used those caps to buy motivator for the robot in the hub and then he gave me blueprints.
