Is the only way to get a good amount of caps is selling spears?
The slave running is bugged in Den because as soon as you bring your slave in to go sell it the mers kill it.
So does anyone know a good way of how to get caps?
Please comment :)

I, for one, do the delivery job for Gun Runners, they pay like 300-400 caps for just going to New Reno, NCR, or San Fransisco...

You can monopolize the limited amount of caps at vendors by having a network of friends and gang members to keep an eye out for caps, and then swoop in and trade enough of the stuff that merchant takes to clean them out.
That's unreliable, but they do have caps rarely. The reason you don't see them is because people snap them up fast.
You also have double dealing people when trading, or otherwise bilking, robbing, or screwing them. Bad for your reputation, good for getting Caps. People do need to have Caps in hand to get some goods and services in the wasteland, and not all those goods and services are in safe places. And even if they are, you can get at people before they get in them.

Where do you get that quest? :)

Sell slaves to Vortis in NCR, you can spawn right next to building as well.
-
I wonder..... if vortis has it's own slave run...
-
Did anyone try selling slaves in NCR? Is it working? How much caps do you get per slave?
-
Would be great if it did. I could do that instead of selling my Lone wanderers for 200 caps each at Vortis.

Caps and their partial existence? Yeah, it is a bit annoying. No, you cannot sell slaves in NCR. At least for me, any 'tamed'(that is: npc gained via rope) gets shot by protected town guards. Brahmin executed by SF mine guards and slaves executed when I tried Vortis (which also necessitated my own execution, as guards kill the slave owners if the slave hits anyone, which includes their self-defence).
As well, the bugs remain with the slaves and slaver in main Raider base. So, afaik, the only place to sell slaves still is in Den, which is why it is so irritating. Everyone just loves militia spam with sneakers hovering around while you try to sell a few slaves worth 400$.

I sell Lone wanderers in NCR regular. Just before enter NCR set to Don't attack anyone unless attacked and take their equipment off them.

Brahmin, shot in San Fran mine? You must have done something or have a bug, because they didn't bat an eye at the Brahmin I took the other day to haul ore.

It is not just the sneakers; even through rogues do this actively, there is an actual bug with den militia, encountered and reported in the last session - when you add merc/follower militia, it sometimes tends to activelly atack any players followers.
Now we had a hunch that it has something to do with the mercs mindset (what to attack) when added, but didnt have the space to test that extensively. Also, i would give it a try with concieving slaves weapons before entering den.
Anyhow this actually means the end of slave trading for a while, every time militia gets bugged like this. Till someone kills them off, thats where we are.
And about the caps. They are still extremely easy to obtain. And its not just the spears, which is a pain in the ass anyways. Its just not that much. Thats what devs were aiming for and thats what they achieved. Its the wasteland - work for your wealth you lazy ...

Specifically... no, I never do a thing in SF. My char lives around the area, would never do a thing to jeopardize it. As mentioned, it was a tamed cow I got from an enc, only that. I solved it easily just by buying one from the pen, which I had used previously. The only reason I had to kill the bought one is because when remaking my tent to Ranger hut, I put all the hides on the cow... which was a huge mistake, all the hides went into his 'default drop on death' one, and I had to kill it to get them all back. Tamed one afterward and guards apparently thought it was a terrorist moomoo in the mine.
However, your comment about their reaction-stance may have had something to do with it, same thing with the slaves, I will have to test that out I suppose.
-And I have had no problem selling slaves in the Den. They(SoT, not militia) kill the slaves before I even get to Metzger, not ran into any bugs of militia at present other than their inability to miss it seems. Among bullshit stats, they seem to have a jacked hit %. Thankfully, I worked for my wealth and got a shiny Scout to show for it. Awesome car, really. Trunk that can fit an armed brahmin, fuel-economy out the ass, etc.
