Processing and editing of the original data is also a violation of copyright laws and benefits not need to be material. Satisfaction of the play is also a benefit. That nobody talks about copyright is the good will of the owners. Besides that it was stupid treated as fans.
...But i think with acta can be even worse ;)

Daniel Suarez once made a nice example in his book how intellectual property can be turned into a lawsuit bomb.
A agricultural company hands out free samples of their seeds to farmers. The farmers use the seeds for two seasons, then the company quits their marketing project and prohibit the free use of the seeds. But seeds remain on farmer's fields and one time, they start to grow.
Then, the controllers from the agricultural company head out to farmer's field and take samples.
"A-ha," say the controller to the farmer "you've been growing our seeds and don't pay for it - therefore, you pirate our seeds. Pay up OR ELSE."
I'm sure, some of you have downloaded intellectual property of someone and didn't bothered about paying, maybe because it wasn't explicitely stated that YOU HAVE to pay for it.
Now, ask yourself: can the government or rather the corporations bust you with a lawsuit anytime, anywhere, just because they need your cooperation with something and are denied by you? Oh yes and how they can! And with ACTA as law basis it's that much easier!
