Title: Which skills are the most Useful?
Post by: merlin on January 21, 2012, 06:49:21 pm
What skills are the most useful? I've found unarmed to be incredibly useful for scaring off theives, and incapacitating molerats with the heavy handed perk. Although it isn't much use against a burster it is very cheap to level a character this way, although I think  you may actually pay for it in perks to keep you alive.

What have you guys found to be useful? skill wise...

Speech is also useful...

It is used for traveling with mercenaries, players, slaves, etc.

It also helps you be able to have 50 NPC helpers, I think...

Speech also saves your ass if you screw up in some quests, might save you from the consequences.

Outdoorsman is good on just about anybody though doubly so for crafting-oriented since you're likely to be unable to shoot or sneak your way out of sticky situations, and the more encounters you can avoid, the less likely you're going to get stuck between a Unity and BoS patrol and blown away in crossfire.

Speech is great for being able to talk your way out of botched quests if you can't blast your way out, or for getting the mercenariness required to blast your way out.

Decent first aid is nice for the free exp boost every time you die.

Repair is nice for expanding the time between having to make/buy new equipment.

Also, you can consider all these things "stuff I wished I knew as a noob" since I kinda botched my character build and dread the idea of grinding brahmin hides and caps again.
