Title: What skills are completely useless?
Post by: merlin on January 21, 2012, 06:46:01 pm
Like now I know bartering is completely worthless after getting to level 24 with it tagged. Not one shop will buy my stuff, and not one shop has any caps. The prices in the shop that will take stuff are double mine. Not worth it in the least 196% wasted!  What else have people found to be utter junk when making a character?

Actually, Barter is very useful when you buy things, it lowers prices, increases time when trading, etc.

And Gambling is probably the most worthless/useless skill for now, until they add it or fix it...

Gambling is about the only one I can't see me using with any character, ever.

But then again, I've never tried to gamble.  Is the mechanic even IN the game?  I honestly don't know.

Since Bartering and Gambling have already been taken, I'll say that I don't see much use for traps. Though it might have more use for PKers.

Nah, traps is decent. Not only the obvious, that you need it for the Demo profession, but it's useful in treasure hunting as well, disarming bear traps and land mines and such.

EDIT:  Plus, regarding gambling, they did make the New Reno casinos guarded now.  I feel like that's suggesting that maybe, at some point, you may be able to gamble there.

Yeah, I figured that gambling was going to be implemented at some point, since just about every city in the game has a gambling establishment (all of them except VC if I'm not mistaken). Though as it stands, literally nothing uses it.

Though if caps remain as hard to get as they are currently, gambling might take off as the go-to profession.
