so, i sugest dogs start at low loyality, and to gain loyality you must play with them, give them food, pet them, train them(by force trowing some items and tell him to fetch)and so on

Well, I don't know how weak/strong are dogs, but if they suck and are almost useless, then giving them loyalty or otherwise they leave you is bad, imho. If you want to give them loyalty, then dogs should be a serious threat.

Slaves cannot be given Jet either.

I just figured it was like companions whether or not u have jet on your there is at least dialogue there.

You can give slaves jet.

I agree with Schwartz. Pet them? Really? Playing fetch? This is post-apocalyptic MMO. You don't love your dog, you have it to help you survive. Or sharpen their teeth with flint, maybe.

And to Solar's comment "lucky dog owners" - dogs are still useless, the higher HP dog still dies quite fast, while the lower scout dog will die in the first encounter with guns. And then we'll have to feed something that might not even be as powerful as a pigrat?

I agree with jodwig that unless they can be a serious threat, their shouldn't be "upkeeps" for everything.

Dogs are already enough useless.. low HP, DMG.. well good against 0DT,0DR bluesuit..
Let them keep full loyality all the time, they die in battle anyway :P

Puppy -> Dog -> Angry dog -> Wild dog -> Wolf -> Angry Wolf -> Cerberus (Red dog skin)
From weakest to strongest.

Maybe when you buy Dog from dog seller, it will be "Puppy" when it gains experience it will gain different titles and become stronger.

I think we could make dogs stronger again, as you can't have a million of them anymore now (which was the reason for the low stats- people used them in masses to grief others).

I like the "fetch" idea, from time to time dog could bring us something more or less useful - and there would be % chance that dog won't come back alive, he'll come back dead! or undead! and eat his owner mwhaha!, - no seriously its sounds like nice feature (well maybe without all tamagotchi thing).

They probally just die. but what you say is actually a good idea. Just make a little quest (or just buy a dog) and have it respawn at your tent/base/hotel room. This way they still make a nice addition, and arent completely usseles.

Dogs have good ears, they should be able to detect sneak at 100 hexes.
Of course, they wouldn't give their position on the map, but would run after them or shout, or boark.

also is better for them to use 35 PPs
