Title: Making gunpowder over a campfire should result exactly as one would expect.
Post by: Rosmy Sundr on January 08, 2012, 12:33:31 am
Really... gunpowder + campfire?
Okay, I could understand campfire+wood -> charcoal and having charcoal as a crafting component. but actually crafting gunpowder over an open flame?

This should have:
Perhaps this would make grinding more exciting.

Do want ;D

(But if you are a demolition expert, this should not apply. Fair enough?)

This should have:
  • a chance to explode in your face, based on luck and int, like 5%/(luck*int). Not an instakill explosion, but enough to waste the resource and take off 10 hp or so,
  • a "THIS WAS A HORRIBLE IDEA- WHERE DID YOUR EYEBROWS GO?" alert, and
  • 10 minutes of -1CH burnt face personal condition

Perhaps this would make grinding more exciting.

lolololol

yea that is a fair trade off

I might be missing something, but as far as I remember, developers was going to get rid of the demolition expert profession. Though I might me wrong, coz I didn't checked it by myself.

P.S. I support this suggestion anyway.

Sounds good :D
-1CH is good tradeoff for that.

Perhaps this would make grinding more exciting.

It would not. Repairing items used to have a random chance of failure and no-fucking-body liked it.

Though slightly unrelated, I do have a backyard aluminum melting forge, and I have cooked rocket-fuel over it, open-flame and all, but that was just caramelizing sugar and adding an oxidizer. more related; it took about 8 days for my eyebrows to grow back, but that's because molten sugar sticks like napalm.

And yeah, demo expert should remove likelihood of explosion... unless jinxed.

See it as a workbench around the fire. You don't put things in the fire.
