Yes, this nasty . . . . .ehm feature.
I would like to suggest placing few rows of blocking hexes at top of some/all maps to prevent this nasty camping.
Vote and discuss.

yes i agree, its very annoying when trolls do this and is somethings hard to click on them.
-
Blockers to all maps yes!
It's very annoing that you can't see enemy anywhere, but he still keep shooting you :/
-
Yes, but only to some maps. Because safe towns don't need this.

No.
Sniping from hide-spots is part of the game.
Get higher perception, maneuver around cover, etc.
Not Hello Kitty.

@swinglinered
your only saying that because either your a troll.(highly likely)
or you play sniper all the time when trolling and dont want your 1 advantage to go away.
it makes no sense all we can see is your legs which is hard to aim on. when you get to see ever thing and shoot every thing comeing at you, when we are trying to find your legs to fire at.
-
Not to mention the fact that this is only an advantage for snipers and everyone else has to rely on actual tactics. I vote for blockers.
-
I agree with the two posts above. Voted for the blockers.

Sniping from some real hide spots, sure, not from edges of maps... It's just a lame trick to hide character name.
Maybe obstacles like trees should give significant AC bonus but not this.
Even if I stay next to you, all I can see is your shoes? Let's be serious...

It is a part of the game, but it is allowed and we got used to it. How will higher perception help there ? Maneuver around cover ???
Pr0 arguments indeed.

Or render area beyond as pitch black, so that you can see whole character. I guess it would also help removing annoying scroll blockers.
-
In Redding there could be a mountain at the top edge.
-
Needed all on maps, yah.

Oh rly? I remember a long time ago one action in Klamath (in forest on north), when we knew, where is enemy (ya, automap feature), but we couldn't shoot him because of fucking scrolling, is it ok? So don't tell us, that it's part of game, because it can be considered as cheating/exploiting (ye, hiding in unreachable points of map is somehow exploiting, isn't it?)

Sounds like exploiting to me.

A real sniper might lay down, with leaves, branches, dirt, etc.
The "only see shoes" thing could just be a stand-in for being able to lay prone/use camoflauge.
"only see head"/gun barrel, in such case.

It's a skill and it's called "sneak". Everything else is just abusing game mechanic with poor excuses.

Definetely a must have feature. I have no idea, why it wasn't suggested before. Voted yes, for all maps.
