Hello,
I've heard different answers from many in game people about what is the maximum level of outdoors man skill.
Wiki says that regardless the % , chance for encounter cannot be higher then 95%.
Can someone confirm/deny or clear this out?
-
Yes. Chance to choose to enter or not, is capped at 95%.
Different areas/terrain need more OD skill to get to this limit.

What do you mean? Is there any formula to get this result?

Can't really say...
If its next to a town, it tends to be easier then the squares away from it.
Enclave, Areas with Aliens, Centuars and the likes tend the be the highest, no matter if the terrain is flat or not.
Area immediently surrounding NCR is the fastest/lowest.
150% or perhaps 175% would be to get max on all areas, though further skill would only affect speed.

I don't know the formula, but it should be different for different areas/squares.
150% outdoorsman lets me choose almost every encounter. The times I get sucked into one, I account to that 5% chance of failure ;-)
Having more than 150% doesn't seem to give any more security of traveling, but less than 130% does tend to get me into encounters more often.
Not really what you asked, but this is just my experience.

It's a matter of personal taste to raise above 150%, because it seems to be "safe" value. I see no difference between 150% and 201%, didn't check 300% tho.

I got 160% outdoorsman, but I think 150% is enough.
You can easily avoid many encounters with 150% already, so why do I waste points to 160% outdoorsman :(
Don't do same mistake :)
-
300% is always enough for me.
Too bad that you've got to play with a.. um, brother.

I have a guy with 281 OD (and Pathfinder 2, Ranger, Explorer, Scout, 2x Survivalist), gets as many encounters as with 180.
IIRC, 150 is enough to get only 5% chance of no choice in all but the worst squares, 180 for the worst squares.
