Title: Fallout Online Configuration
Post by: Nilas on December 03, 2011, 03:05:59 am
What's the most optimal way to configure FOnline?

Like the purpose of...

Screen Clear?
VSync?
Software skinning 3d?
3d FPS?
3d smooth transition?
Light?
Cache Sprites?
Texture Size?

What are the optimal settings for these?

The most optimal settings are default (at least for me), except the "Multisampling 3d", which should be turned off in order to significantly increase performance. Also, you could set "light" to 50, but it depends on how do you like to play.

Screen Clear? dunno... Under wine makes, that interface and everything else isn't blinking.
VSync? - useful for LCD screens as I heard
Software skinning 3d? - if your graphic card somehow is slower than.. something, it can make some more fpses while seeing some 3d critter
3d FPS? - lock of 3d critters frames per second (and other 3d graphics)
3d smooth transition? dunno..
Light? - brightness, it change nothing in performance
Cache Sprites? - depends on how much vram your video card has (if just 64mb like me I'm setting this as less as it's possible, if more, for example 1gb you can experiment with big values)
Texture Size? - depends on how much vram your video card has (if just 64mb like me I'm setting this as less as it's possible, if more, for example 1gb you can experiment with big values)

I can be wrong of course :)
