Hello, i would like to buy faction base but i was unable to find NPC in Junktown bar.
I did read wiki base section http://www.fo2238.fodev.net/wiki/Base but im little bit lost.
Any advice how to get a faction and faction base welcome.

temporarily disabled
-
but please enable it back !!! Its too dangerous to go to klamath or redding to buy a base now !!! Were just a small gang and we 'd like to have a place to rest but theres alwalys gang s scout hanging around, waiting for us to kill and steal all the money !!! It;s really frustrated !!!
-
I agree with silverq and in my opinion any buying a base at this moment no diffrence then in Klamath or Redding ot Junktown is really difficult. Exampel we tryied 3 days maybe 15x times before I chosed a name of faction what is not taken . It should be changed or add more exampel 100 new names of faction or let players create new names of factions will be no problems with names already taken.
-
and i forgot last a place to buying a base should be really REALLY REALLY SAVE ! No stupid pk waiting for easy cash no thiefs maybe a npc should be in NCR then no problems in 99% of situations to buy a base

To mention this happening with proffesions in unguarded towns as well.

Unguarded towns are dangerous, because they are, well, unguarded.
Keep money in hand while buying a base or proffesion, take some friends with as protection. Use scouting and city preview, it's not as hard to buy a hideout now.

no use. every gangs have eyes on these towns (with city preview its easyyyyyyyyyy) . Once a guy step in town everyone will know someone is up to something, and some forces will immediatly be sent. U wont even have 3 minutes to finish your conversation and see your head chopped off (and disappear as well, with minigun and LSW around u)
-
Interesting, I've been nearby during buying two caves, scrapheap and two outposts, and there was no "immediate forces" around us at any time. Stop threating, when there is no threat, and good luck in win a fight in f.e. Junktown, full of guards ;-)
-
where did u buy it then ? in Junktown theres no problem, but in Redding and Klamath its a different story.
-
One in Redding, scrapheap is not available in Junktown, AFAIK. And I can agree - it is some adrenaline kick, entering there with pocket full of caps :>
Is it true that at the moment buying an outpost in Junktown is impossible? Is it caused by lack of free gang names?
-
I would like to know the answer too. I also wanted to buy the Outpost in the Junktown but I have met two problems. The Name and also the information, that it is not possible right now. So how it is now?
-
I have no idea.
For several days days the base vendor in junktown wouldnt talk to my char. Finally he did, but kept saying i should make sure my team is following me ; i had 4 tagged non faction members standing one hex next to the npc and party leader.
Sucks to have to drag your friends to there for nothing and having to run around in town several times with 130 k.
And those new guards that were placed ? lol.. ive seen them being killed by a plasma nader several times. Maybee they should have even lower hps ?
-
bump. same problem. 4 players, no dialogue option leading to base.
-
Maybe its because all options to choose a faction name are gone.

Hello,
I'm playing with my best friend at Fonline. we play Crafter and we need to protect our stuff.
I'd like to know if it's possible for us, my friend and I, to buy a base ?
If not, how many players at the minimum is needed to buy a base ? Or is there a another way for us to get a base ?
Thank you guys.

You'll need to be three or four.
-
Thats a little vague. It would be nice to have a correct explanation why the vendor will at one time not give dialogue and at another time does give dialogue. And once you finally get a dialogue after making your (place your favorite number here)'ieth fun run into town, holding 130 k caps but then keeps claiming there are no party members around or that they should follow you...

all the names are taken.. what do i do?
apparently i must wait till next update..
thanks GM for responding. sorry about my friend. his intelligence is 1..
he is not good at dealing with people. he made us all look bad. :(
-
Yesterday me and two friends bought a Scrapheap base in Redding - we were in bluesuits. paid 70000. wasnt so hard..
Generic Name xx and stuff.. all good ::)
-
These are the new faction names:
Generic name 1
Generic name 2
...
These are rather bad names, it is possible to modify these if I bought it already?

Just a heads up for any slavers buying a junktown base, BOS and Remnants kill you on sight and your base will be right in the middle of their territory. You're better off with a northern one since all the good slaves are up there too.

What base are you talking about? The locations for bases are mostly random: for example, the 130K ones can be a little north of NCR, and also east of Junktown, as well as other places. I think it would just be bad luck if you get a base out there for a slaver.

Lol at keeping it in hand, as if people bother trying to steal when they can just kill you.

A little of a revival but what happened with Earl at Junktown? He won't accept my beer, there is no choice even if I have it.
EDIT: you need the 5 caps, not the beer.. sorry, my mistake

Was trying to buy a base yesterday from JunkTown.
Tried 20 names from the list, none works. Then I tried Generic Name <+ a number>, it works!
Btw, I am reading the wiki about base.
It said "enemy entering your base (Either because of a betrayal or a successful tracking)", what does tracking mean?
Does it mean people with extremely high outdoor skills able to find your base?

Nope, that means if someone join member's party, and he (member) will not see this. So he'll bring an enemy.
