Title: What exactly is involved in joining a gang?
Post by: Jonny Death on August 19, 2011, 06:42:31 am
Pros, Cons, how it affects character development.
Also can anyone describe the recruitment process,
How long it generally takes to get accepted,
If there are any ranks
How long it takes to raise in rank
Things you can gain access to as you rank up and responsibilities you pick up as well perhaps?
Any comments would be appreciated.

Pros: you've got a bunch of new mates who'll help you out and lend you stuff.
Cons: you've got a bunch of new enemies who'll kill you because they don't like your mates.
Character development: mates cripple deathclaws, you finish them off, and hit level 10 in no time. That sort of thing.
Accepted: depends on the group and how you act.
Ranks: I think so, but it depends on the group.
Responsibilities/accesses: it depends on the group.

if you join a player faction there is nothing that will affect the solo gameplay, exept you can't join NPC faction
but if you wanna join NPC faction, just be added to the base as a friend

rest of the questions depends on the faction

Of course you get enemies of that faction.
You got new mates that "maybe" hunt with you and you will win easily and gain exp.
But every faction is different and no one can't say sure about every faction.

Depends on faction.

Depends on activity. And if you're a hot girl, it's faster  ::)

If there are any ranks

Multiple and various ranks are usually for noob-factions who have no clue how gangs operate and like to give themselves pointless titles. Activity in the gang gives you influence. Usually all gangs got their organizers (leaders) however.

How long it takes to raise in rank

Depends on faction. Like said, most gangs don't have any ranks. Active members get more influence because the other gangmembers count on them and respect them. The terminal ranks are usually given to shared alts and accounts are given to trusted players.
