Title: Changelog 09/02/2010
Post by: Ghosthack on February 09, 2010, 10:10:49 pm
FIXES:
- Followers would sometimes rejuvenate items they had in their inventory.

CHANGES (WIP):
- Reputation decay won't lower reputation higher than 200 to below 200, and won't rise reputation lower than -200 above -200. It won't change the reputation if it's absolute value was no greater than 200.
- Cap for reputation gained from killing is 200 instead of 0.
- Dynamic prices for mercenaries should work again properly, they are also a bit lower initially.

i think decay should be changed a bit more. My suggestion is, that when you join a faction that changes your reputation like Vault city, Raiders, Slavers etc. and you do not resign, your reputation decays to the one you got for all groups (towns etc). For example if you joined vault city and didint resign, you got +100 reputation with ncr rangers, so the decay point to witch your reputation decays is +100 no matter what + or - reputation you have at any moment. And if you do  resign, so decay points are set like these after new update. What do you think?

I'm sorry, but can I ask, what does the "rejuvenate" mean? I know it is something like "become young again", but the sentence doesn't make sense to me (sorry again, English is not my native language.. but I try ;) ).
2 Giemz (down): Ah, thanks a lot. :)

I didnt understand this sentence at all :

- Cap for reputation gained from killing is 200 instead of 0.

Can someone explain ? :)

Thx in advance !

I suppose it means that by killing mobs, you can raise your reputations to 200 max. Before cap was to 0, which means you could kill as much mobs as you wanted, it would never raise upper than 0.

Oh ? So we can up our reputation by killing special critters. I knew it could be done to lower it, not to raise it ! Afaik, never saw my reputation up.

Those actions can influence your reputation, increasing it for some factions and decreasing it for others.
  • Killing a critter (See below). It won't raise your reputation above 0.
  • Joining an official faction (NPC-Driven : Vault City citizen, Navarro, Raiders...) : See the main article about it, Reputation changes when joining an official faction.
  • Joining the Slavers.

This might help a bit, Shangalar.

Well, the wiki was referring to the previous changelog in which it specifically states it worked around 0 variable. This changelog on the other hand, changed it:) So never quote wiki over the latest changelog. Latter is most likely right.

Yeah, I quoted to show that it was that you couldn't gain positive rep through mob kills--which might be why Shangalar never noticed an increase in reputation--until this latest patch raised the "cap for reputation gained from killing [to] 200 instead of 0."

Maybe that wasn't too clear, my apologies.
