I'd like to help this community built game in some way.
I'm not trained in any computer-based skill, although I've spent most my life on them...
So basically I'd like to hear some options as to what I could to do help advance this game.

The developer team will not let you do anthing... Trust me.
They want to do everything on thier own.
I would suggest to try the SDK, talk with me... Maybe we could have some fun with the SDK...
And maybe set up a team.
But don't expect to get anything from the FOnline community... Unless you lick the devs asses
or post 1000 posts on this forum that is. ;)

You're wrong, if you realize a good quest or a good map (or both), and send it to them, dev will take it.

but yeah the immediate options for helping the game is maps/quests or if you are sensible enough to create a suggestion that may improve on features, add content etc (just dont jump in on this without checking if it has been suggested before).

Pretty much that... Cola is back and it looks like he is kind of butthurt :-\
Maybe you are a pretty handy at 3D modeling, if so please visit the 3D development sub-forum and see if you can do any help there.
You can also help the developers by writing dialouges, making maps and alike. I can't really remeber where to get all the tools, but I'm pretty sure they come with the SDK.
Not very good at all the previous mentioned? Well... you can try making simple suggestions that balance the game in the Suggestion sub-forum. Just make sure it has as many benefits as possible, while there are no cons. Suggesting new guns may lead to imbalancement of already existing guns. Make sure you describe your suggestion as good as possible. Ask yourself "Does FOnline 2238 really needs this?".

Exactly. But Cola dont have nothing to offer, only some few words "I will be good GM"
And its buthurt as hell.
And Feerwich, if you are not skilled in any computer skill, you really can write some quests. At least you can just play the game and report bugs, if you will be masochist enough :)

Even if not so good on the modelling, there's time to learn. Also, there's work to be done on texturing (which is just photoshop really) and simply text editing (aligning the size, direction, connection point of weapons). Plenty to help out with for anyone who wants to.
