Title: ToHit% and Scoped HR
Post by: Vodnik on July 21, 2011, 09:44:48 pm
Hi,

On Fonline Wiki I found, that Huntig Rifle is one of "Long Range" guns, which means, it has +16% instead of +8% ToHit per perception point. But on that list, Scoped Hunting Rifle is missing! In exchange, it has "Scoped" perk, witch gives +36% ToHit. So, if Scoped version of HR is without "Long Range", then if you'v got more than 4 Perception, it's usless. So, does it have, or doesn't not the Long Range perk?

I am not sure to understand WTF you try to tell us, but, no, scoped hunting rifle don't have long range perk, it have scoped, but scoped actually is better for long range (PE-2)*20 instead of (PE-2)*16, and shitty on short range (no PE bonus at all if you're less than 5hex away from target).

First - not WTF, but "I dont understand", second:

Quote from: Fonline Wiki
Long Range:
It changes the chance to hit formula to (Perception-2)x16% instead of (Perception-2)x8%. In easy language, you have a much better chance to hit your target, using any weapon which has this perk.

Scoped:
Scoped is a weapon perk which adds +32% bonus to hit chance at a range of 8 or more hexes. At a range of 7 or less hexes the hit chance drops to 5%.

So:

10 PE:
With Long Range: (10 - 2) * 16% = 128%
With Scoped: (10 - 2) * 8% + 32% = 96%

9 PE:
Long Range: (9 - 2) * 16% = 112%
Scoped: (9 - 2) * 8% + 32% = 88%

8 PE:
Long Range: (8 - 2) * 16% = 96%
Scoped: (8 - 2) * 8% + 32% = 80%

7 PE:
Long Range: (7 - 2) * 16% = 80%
Scoped: (7 - 2) * 8% + 32% = 76%

6 PE:
Long Range: (6 - 2) * 16% = 64%
Scoped: (6 - 2) * 8% + 32% = 64%

5 PE:
Long Range: (5 - 2) * 16% = 48%
Scoped: (5 - 2) * 8% + 32% = 56%

What means - if you have >5 PE, then making Scoped out of normal Hunting Rifle, it don't give you a shit, but even can make it wors.

Lets test
HR
5 PE, 200 SG, 35 hex shoot target, eyes, 10 AG - 58%

Scoped HR
5 PE, 200 SG, 35 hex shoot target, eyes, 10 AG - 66%

any questions?

You math the same thing as I did. And conclusion is still the same. Less than 6 PE = Scoped is goog, More than 5 PE = Scoped is bad.

- The scoped hunting rifle gets (PE-2)x20% instead of the x16% if you shoot at a target that is at least 5 hexes away, or no PE-bonus at all for closer enemies.

Hm, thanks.
I looked at:

So it's wiki bug. I just hope that the formula x20% is the right one :)

Wiki is lying in many cases. It's safer just to ask on forum. In example the critical chance page is also wrong, it was right before, but someone edited it - I don't know why.

EDIT: Are this forum's moderators doing anything except warning or banning? This post is waiting 2 days for approval already   ::)

We should burn him, there have been enough discussions about ToHit to not be allowed to do such mistakes.
